The official app for Love Island USA season 2 mixed up De'Andre Heath and Mike Jenkerson's names and photos in a recent poll. Every new season of Love Island introduces a lot of single people who are hoping to find a soulmate through this crazy experiment. In the first year of the American edition, 25 contestants were introduced in just 32 days. Generally, the British version of Love Island lasts close to 60 days and introduces an average of 30 islanders. Overall, the fans are used to the show being a revolving door for beautiful single contestants coming in and out.

So far, Love Island USA season 2 has already introduced 26 contestants in just three weeks. However, ten of those islanders were brought in through the Casa Amor twist, making their introductions less abrupt than how they were during the show's first season. The introduction to the new castmates has been smooth enough that the viewers are able to keep up with their names, personalities, and uniqueness. One of the biggest complaints about season 1 was that the fans did not spend any time with some of the islanders and, consequently, barely got to know them. This year, the show is doing a great job of introducing a lot of contestants without having them get lost in the shuffle.

Unfortunately, the official Love Island USA app doesn't seem to be keeping up with the islanders' names and faces as well as the fans have been. After the Wednesday, September 9 episode, the show published the following poll on its official app: "Which new boy should Kierstan consider?" The options were the newly-introduced guys from the Casa Amor twist: Aaron Owen, De'Andre Heath, Jalen Noble, Mike Jenkerson, and Pat Albasha. Except, De'Andre's name showed up with Mike's picture, and Mike's name showed up with De'Andre's picture. Moreover, De'Andre's name was misspelled "D'Andre." Below is a screenshot of the images that the fans saw on the show's official app.

It is certainly a challenge for everyone to keep up with the constant Love Island USA additions to the cast. However, it is still disappointing for the fans to see that the show's official app is making very avoidable mistakes by confusing the names and faces of two contestants who look extremely different from each other. This poll was posted around 10pm ET, which is immediately after the episode aired on the east coast. Nearly four hours later, the app is still showing the mix-up between De'Andre and Mike's faces in this particular poll. Ultimately, one must wonder what could've happened if this mix-up took place during high-stakes public votes that could lead to an islander's elimination.

Hopefully, the Love Island USA season 2 app will learn from these early mistakes and avoid future ones. After all, confusing names and faces can be a very touchy subject for a lot of people.
