The Casa Amor twist is over on Love Island USA season 2, but Mercades Schell is now calling Johnny Middlebrooks "super fake" and expecting him to reach out to her once the season is over. During the entire season, Johnny and Cely were arguably the strongest couple in the villa. They were coupled up since the season premiere and had shown no cracks in their relationship throughout the weeks. But for the first time ever, the US edition of Love Island introduced the infamous Casa Amor twist from the UK series.
The Casa Amor twist on Love Island USA divided the OG boys and girls for a week. The boys moved into Casa Amor, where they lived with five new female islanders looking for love. In turn, the girls stayed behind in the main villa, where they greeted five new male islanders who wanted to find their soulmates. For almost a week, many of the existing relationships on the show were tested. But to the shock of many fans, Johnny was one of the first guys to have his head turned by a newcomer, Mercades Schell.
Following her elimination from Love Island USA, Mercades Schell is now speaking out about her experience with Johnny Middlebrooks at Casa Amor. During an interview with ET (seen below), Mercades called Johnny "super fake." The interview also included GiNiele Reitzell and Faith Tyrell, both of whom agree that Johnny was pursuing Mercades from the moment that he arrived at Casa Amor. Mercades' full quote about Johnny was: "He's only in it for the game. He's super fake. I will be expecting him in my DMs." Overall, these girls think that the male islanders on the show aren't actually there to find love. They also claim that the boys were very scared to make any moves.
Ever since Johnny returned to the main villa on Love Island USA, he's made amends with Cely and apologized for everything that went down with Mercades at Casa Amor. She has since forgiven him and moved past from that uneasiness, but that doesn't stop Mercades from sharing her own side of the story now that she's done with the show. There are still quite a few Casa Amor newbies living in the villa, which means that a lot of heads were turned during this twist.
Johnny Middlebrooks won't be able to react to Mercades' statements until he's done with Love Island USA. From the looks of it, he and Cely aren't going anywhere... unless the public gets the chance to vote him out and keep her in to find someone else.
