At the Love Island USA villa, things were finally looking up for Isaiah Campbell and Sydney Paight, but the islander has some apologizing to do if he wants to make it up to his partner after his latest mistake. Following a challenge where islanders had to guess which contestants fans were tweeting about, Sydney finally found out that Isaiah compared her appearance to bombshell Phoebe Siegel at Casa Amor, calling Phoebe naturally beautiful. Sydney was devastated, and was once again wondering if she wanted to stay in a couple with Isaiah, while he struggled to figure out how to make it up to Sydney.
Before the challenge, the couple had finally worked through their Casa Amor drama. Isaiah broke Sydney's heart when he returned to the villa after Casa Amor with Phoebe, leaving her single, and nearly getting her dumped from the island. He inevitably ended up begging for Sydney's forgiveness, but she was hesitant to take him back because she felt that her trust had been broken. She had doubts after Phoebe told her what they'd been up to at Casa Amor. After days of admitting to his faults, and a challenge where Isaiah had a pie smashed in his face several times due to his bad behavior, Sydney finally took him back. Now, he's found himself in a worse position.
If Isaiah wants to win Sydney back again, it's going to take more than an apology. The Love Island USA contestant could start by showing Sydney that he understands why she's so upset. One reason why Sydney was so hurt was that Isaiah immediately got defensive over his comments instead of comforting her. He seemed more hurt by the fact that what he said had gotten out than he was that Sydney had to hear it. Instead, Isaiah should put his ego aside and hear his partner out. He needs to validate Sydney's feelings instead of brushing them off in an attempt to redeem himself. If Isaiah truly cares about her, he should want to make her feel better more than he wants to prove he's innocent.
His next step would be to learn from the experience and stop making so many careless mistakes. It's obvious that Sydney has given Isaiah more chances than any of the other islanders would have given him. Phoebe, for example, moved on quickly after realizing that he wasn't treating her fairly. However, if he doesn't get his act together, he may run out of opportunities to make things up to Sydney. After talking things out with Sydney and proving that he really is sorry, he needs to start making some serious changes, in terms fo how he handles arguments and disagreements. As the youngest islander, maybe he can learn from other contestants like Timmy Pandolfi and Jesse Bray, who know how to address difficult situations in the villa.
Isaiah is definitely walking on thin ice with Sydney, and if he continues to face his relationship struggles like he has in the past, there won't be another chance for him with her. The islander needs to start treating Sydney like she is as important to him as he says she is. While he seemed genuinely upset that she heard about what he said at Casa Amor, he needs to communicate this in a mature way to save his relationship with Sydney. The two have gotten through so much at the Love Island USA villa, and it would be a shame if they didn't make it through their latest bump in the road.
