It's always fun to watch the islanders falling in love on Love Island, but the fans are starting to wonder if the relationships on the USA edition are more superficial than the couples on the original British show. The original British Love Island series has been a huge hit around the world, which is why CBS bought the rights to produce an American edition. Overall, there are a few punctual differences between the American and the British shows, including the length of their seasons. Instead of just four weeks, the Brits get close to 60 full days to get to know their respective partners.

Otherwise, Love Island USA and the British series are pretty similar and follow basically the same structure throughout their seasons. On the first day, there are typically 10 to 12 single islanders that kick off the new season. During the season, production keeps bringing in newbies to spice up the drama a little bit. But with much shorter seasons, the constant introducing of new Love Island USA castmates can lead to a sensation that the show is a never-ending revolving door.

So far, the two seasons of Love Island USA lasted just about a month. While it is true that these islanders spend every waking hour with their fellow castmates, there are always a lot of newbies coming in, group activities to join in, and diary room confessionals to film. This year, the American edition introduced the Casa Amour twist for the first time. During this period, the boys moved into a second house and lived with a group of five single girls. In turn, the OG female islanders lived with five new male contestants in the main villa. This twist lasted one week, which was yet another set of days that the islanders didn't spend with their actual partners. In comparison, Love Island UK gives its islanders close to 60 days to get to know one another. This gives them plenty of time to learn about their significant others, get used to their daily routines, and even meet their families at the end. It's fair to say that this longer period of time does allow the islanders to build stronger relationships that they weren't rushed into.

Justine Ndiba and Caleb Corprew won Love Island USA season 2 and decided to split the $100,000 grand prize at the finale. Caleb never asked Justine to be his girlfriend while on the show, but she does plan on moving to Los Angeles to live with him. There are no couples still together from the first season, but it's too soon to say who's going to stay together from the second season. In turn, by the end of most seasons of Love Island UK, it is very common for the couples to be professing their love for each other - many of whom went on to get married and start families.

All things considered, it's helpful for the couples to spend a little bit more time in the villa together in order to build stronger and more real relationships. Nonetheless, Love Island USA won't be on for another year (at least), and there is no scheduled season of Love Island UK until 2021.
