Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran from Love Island UK have called it quits after over a year of dating. The two came in second place during Love Island UK season 7. Toby officially asked Chloe to be his girlfriend during the finale, which aired in September 2021. The news of their split comes a few months after Love Island season 7 winners Millie Court and Liam Reardon broke up.

An anonymous source provided details on Chloe and Toby's breakup to the Daily Mail. The insider revealed that this decision was months in the making. "Chloe and Toby put everything into their relationship--but it just hasn't worked out for them," the source explained. They also emphasized that neither party cheated nor did anything egregiously wrong. Instead, the reality stars "have simply grown apart." At this time, the two are still living in the same house in Essex, which they bought last November. Before the split was confirmed, there was some speculation based on social media activity. Their last post together was in September when Toby wished his then-girlfriend a happy 27th birthday via Instagram. At the time, Chloe commented, "Awwww no stop I wanna cry!!! Love you sexy bum xxxxx." On October 8, Chloe flirtatiously responded to a tweet from Amber Rose Gill. She didn't respond when the Love Island season 5 winner asked about Toby.

The day before the Daily Mail story was published, Chloe posted on Instagram about a Moroccan getaway with Millie. In the comments, Chloe joked she was ready to propose to her former Love Island UK co-star. "Naturally, Chloe has found the breakup difficult," the anonymous insider shared, "but being able to spend time abroad with Millie has given her the space she needed to start moving on." Chloe and Mille became best friends during Love Island season 7, as they formed the "naughty trio" with fellow contestant Lucinda Strafford.

"Chloby" had a tumultuous journey together in the villa. The blonde bombshell made a move on the footballer when he was still paired with Kaz Kamwi. This earned both of them a lot of backlash from Love Island fans. Toby later chose to recouple with Abi Rawlings, putting Chloe at risk of elimination. He soon recoupled again during Love Island's signature Casa Amor twist, bringing back Mary Bedford. Viewers were shocked when, only one episode later, he wanted to reconcile with Chloe. After he won her back, the couple were stronger than ever and became fan-favorites. However, Toby's maturity was questioned. The 23-year-old frequently spoke about never being in a relationship before.

Fans grew incredibly fond of Chloe and Toby both during and after Love Island. But considering their rocky road in the villa, and their gap in maturity, it perhaps isn't too shocking things didn't work out. This leaves Faye Winter and Teddy Soares, who finished behind Chloby in third place, as the last Love Island UK season 7 couple standing. Meanwhile, all the finalist couples from Love Island UK season 8 are still together, though it's only been three months since they exited the villa. Time will tell if those four couples last as long as, or even longer than, Chloe and Toby.
