Love Island star Trina Njoroge is revealing the special meaning behind her and Cashay "Cash" Proudfoot's beautiful matching looks. Viewers took note of both contestants wearing Dashikis in the  recoupling aired Friday, August 6. Sadly, Cash was sent home that day, as Casa Amor boy Charlie Lynch chose Alana Paolucci over her. But she certainly left in style, and with a friend for life.

Over season 3 of the CBS series, the two 25-year-olds had some bumps in the road. Especially when it came to their drawn-out love triangle with Melvin "Cinco" Holland, Jr. Instead of letting this tear them apart, the girls became even closer. They were often shown comforting and confiding in one another. And not just over Cinco, but also as Cash's relationship with Charlie fell apart. Though Trina admitted to still feeling hurt by Cinco, the psychiatric nurse encouraged Cash to reunite with the former college athlete on the outside. That wasn't the only incredibly special gift Trina gave her pal.

Trina shared the heartwarming story behind their matching looks to People. "I gifted Cash one of my dashikis because we've been through a lot here and it brought us closer than ever," she explained. The Dashiki is popular in Kenya, where Trina's family is from. Both of the gorgeous garments were a gift from her maternal grandmother. Trina received them while visiting her grandparents in the village of Karinga. The sentimental story, and the fact that she gave it to Cash to keep, shows how close the women are. "Cash became more than a friend, she is now my forever sister," Trina said, and continued, "The Dasashki is a testament to our friendship/sisterhood and a reminder of what we've been through together. #sistersforlife."

Cash gushed over her friend's thoughtful gift, calling it "a symbol of trust, love and respect." The fan favorite told People, "Trina is such a strong woman inside and out. She stands for love and always puts her heart on the line. I respect those qualities in her so much." She continued, "The friendship you see on TV is real. She's such an important part of my journey and growth. I'll forever have her back, as she will mine. That's my girl."

While viewers were devastated to see her go, Cash has made the most of her elimination. She has been spending quality time with Cinco since reuniting at the airport. Meanwhile, Trina, currently coupled up with Andre Luis Brunelli, is still in the running for the Love Island $100,000 prize.
