Love is Blind season 4 has returned with the first five episodes of the already juicy season, including the explosive courtship, engagement, and split between newcomers Zack Goytowski and Irina Solomonova. Zack was faced with an extremely hard decision when he had to choose between Irina and Bliss Poureetezadi while dating the women in the pods. Ultimately Zack made the worst choice imaginable when he chose Irina, and their romance quickly imploded.

Zack, a 31-year-old criminal defense attorney, is one of the main cast members on Love is Blind season 4. He quickly fell for Irina, a 26-year-old business owner, and Bliss, a 33-year-old senior program manager. Zack and Bliss revealed deep and almost eerie compatibility as they shared the same favorite song and favorite animal, and Bliss proved to be loving and nurturing. However, Zack also felt a strong connection to Irina, though he worried that she was more "vicious" than either him or Bliss. Ultimately, Zack proposed to Irina in episode 3 because he felt like he could trust her more. However, they ended up splitting by episode 5.

When Did Things Go Wrong For Zack & Irina On Love Is Blind?

Things went wrong for Irina and Zack as soon as they left the pods and met each other for the first time. Irina was the only engaged Love is Blind season 4 cast member who didn't want to kiss her partner, while she insulted Zack's looks and his blinking. Things worsened rapidly when the couple enjoyed a vacation in Mexico. Irina refused any contact with Zack and was grossed out by even forehead kisses and pinkie holding. She admitted to her friend Micah Lussier that she had "the ick" with her partner, as it quickly became clear that Irina was not attracted to Zack after meeting him. However, Irina chose to avoid looking at Zack or talking to him rather than being honest.

How Irina Became A Love Is Blind Season 4 Villain

Irina had previously displayed catty and cruel behavior during the pod stage of Love is Blind season 4 that caused her to be alienated from all of her fellow female contestants except for Micah. However, she then solidified her villain status by being immature with Zack and refusing to be honest, leading to him dumping her and the former couple getting real. "I was surprised that you were like still like hanging on,” Irina said when Zack ended things. “I was gonna leave you right after I saw you," she added seemingly to hurt him. "Like I’m a complete jerk to you and I know that," Irina even admitted about her bizarre behavior.

Why Zack Should Have Picked Bliss On Love Is Blind

During Irina and Zack's trip in Mexico, it became painfully clear that Zack made the wrong choice when he asked Irina to marry him. Though Zack thought Irina was the one for him, their romance died as soon as it left the pods. While Irina revealed that she wanted to be with her best friend Micah's partner Paul Peden, Zack admitted to thinking about Bliss the whole time he was with Irina. Zack had previously confessed to Bliss that she understood him better than anyone he had ever met. The first installment of Love is Blind season 4 ended with Zack meeting Bliss for the first time, though it could be too late to fix things.
