On season 2 of Love is Blind, Shayne Jansen has exhibited a couple of red flags that have viewers worried for Natalie Lee after she accepted his proposal. This season 15 women and 15 men spent two weeks in pods talking to potential life partners that they could not see. Some contestants, like Natalie, felt an instant connection. Although other contestants, like Shayne and Shaina Hurley, needed a little more time to explore their options. However, forming a connection with multiple people always means someone gets hurt.

In the first episode, a love triangle appeared between Shayne, Natalie, and Shaina. Shayne’s conversations with Shaina were remarkably different from his with Natalie. With Shaina, the talks were more light-hearted and filled with flirtatious remarks. The two had similar personalities and it showed. However, Natalie was more of an introvert and their conversations were more emotional. Ultimately, it seemed the goal of the pods worked, as Shayne opted for the emotional connection he had with Natalie. Natalie happily agreed, despite the several red flags he showed throughout his time on Love is Blind.

The first red flag appeared when he mistakenly thought Natalie was Shaina. When they entered the pods, Shayne asked who he was talking to and Natalie teasingly told him to take a guess. To which he responded with, “Oh, Shaina. There you go. That’s who I was hoping for.” Natalie appeared dumbfounded and Shayne apologized while simultaneously making the situation worse by justifying his actions. Even the most loyal of fans couldn’t help but cringe as Natalie left the pods distraught.

His feelings for Shaina were obvious, and it made Natalie second-guess the validity of their connection. “I was just hurt because I’ve been very clear that I have strong feelings for you and clearly you have feelings for her…” Viewers would’ve thought Shayne would learn from this moment and practice more honesty. However, he continued to pursue both girls. In the end, he chose Natalie, but neglected to tell her that moments before, Shaina was professing her love for him.

Overall, it appears Shayne may lack in the communication department. While he chose an emotional connection over physical, viewers do not believe these two will last. Aside from their differing personalities and his way of manipulating the situation, eventually Shayne will reveal all his red flags. In the end, viewers are hoping for the best for these two on their journey on Love is Blind.
