Shayne Jensen is responding to all the drug use rumors surrounding his name and crediting his ADHD for why he came off erratic on Love Is Blind. Shayne became a target for memes and fan reactions after season 2 premiered on Netflix in February. Shayne became an instant standout with his outspoken personality and facial expressions. But his hyper behavior at times left many viewers wondering if substance abuse was at play. But Shayne is breaking his silence and claims he never used drugs while filming the show.

Fans were rooting for Shayne and Natalie. They were among the fan favorites viewers were hoping to see get married in the finale. But after a series of arguments with Shayne belittling Natalie in front of the cameras, viewers had a love-hate relationship with Shayne. By the time the wedding rolled around, Shayne ruined his chances with Natalie after saying hurtful things to her the night before during another argument. During the reunion, Shayne expressed his regrets for mistreating Natalie and causing their breakup. Despite trying to date a few times after the show, Shayne says he's done pursuing Natalie.

While season 2 was airing, viewers plagued Shayne with memes linking his erratic behavior to possible drug use. Shayne recently addressed the drug use rumors during an appearance on The Viall Files. "Have I [used drugs]? Yes. On the show I did not," Shayne declared. He admitted to having "experience" with using "a few" types of drugs. But Shayne insists that it was "nothing that's been injected into my body." Shayne says he's "sick" of hearing people accuse him of using drugs because of his erratic behavior. "I have severe, severe ADHD," he shared while explaining how being locked up in the pods for three hours "while you're confessing your love and you're talking about all your deep emotions," was pretty intense. "It's a very uncomfortable situation, right? You don't get used to it," Shayne added.

Shayne continued to shut down beliefs that he was doing drugs in between appearing on screen. "People thought I was doing cocaine. I'm mic'd up the whole time," he said. "Everyone would have heard me do it," he noted. With the cast having most of their every moment filmed with microphones attached to them, Shayne said cameras could pick up even when they were "whispering." If Shayne were busy consuming substances in a private room, the producers would've caught it. When it comes to Shayne's wedding day, viewers were convinced that he was under the influence.

Shayne's behavior and facial expressions alarmed the audience, with many taking to social media to accuse him of using drugs. But Shayne says it was just his "anxiety" after not sleeping "for two days straight." Shayne was nervous about whether or not Natalie would agree to marry him, and after she turned him down, Shayne says he was "so embarrassed, my anxiety was going crazy." While Shayne had to deal with being the butt of the joke, he didn't turn out to be the villain on Love Is Blind. Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee and Shaina Hurley took on those roles.
