It seems as though one more Love Is Blind season 2 couple has bit the dust ahead of Friday's finale, thanks to a video showing Abhishek 'Shake' Chatterjee hinting that his relationship with Deepti Vempati is over. Netflix's hit reality show dropped its first set of new episodes on February 11, and viewers have been obsessed with the cast since. Out of the eight couples who got engaged throughout the season, only 5 remain; Shaina and Kyle called their engagement off after home visits, and producers revealed that two other couples who were engaged in the pod, Caitlin and Joey, and Jason and Kara, called it off so soon after that they were not featured on the show. With two couples from LIB season 1 still together after tying the knot in 2018 — Lauren and Cameron and Amber and Matthew —audiences are dying to know who makes it all the way this time around.
Shake and Deepti, one of the most talked-about couples this season, have had a rough dynamic from day one. Introduced as a 32-year-old veterinarian/house DJ, Shake's superficial opinions regarding the women's physical appearances have been noted from the beginning. While most Love Is Blind contestants first look for an emotional connection, Shake's primary goal in the pods was to figure out what the others looked like — viewers watched Shake interrogate Mallory, Iyanna, Hope, Chassidy, and Deepti. When he finally met Deepti face-to-face, he found her beautiful — so beautiful that he proposed to her. Despite the engagement, Shake soon admitted that the two were not matching physically and in episode 9, Shake and Deepti had a vulnerable moment that fans had been waiting for.
While Shake and Deepti seemed to grow closer at the end of last week's episode, a set of Instagram stories Shake reshared on February 20 say otherwise. An Instagram user who was dining in Los Angeles uploaded a video of Shake recording himself for a fan Cameo. "Met [Shake] in line and now we're recording cameos at the bar. Bruh," they wrote. In the video, viewers can hear Shake say, "[...at 33-years-old] I thought I'd be married with kids and you know what, it may be a spoiler..." before trailing off. Trying to recover from what was clearly a big slip up, Shake quickly says, "Okay, you know what, I forget I ever said anything!" before continuing to record the Cameo.
Part two to the Instagram story leaves more questions than answers, however. Reposting the clip again but with added text, Shake wrote, "Y'all really think I would post a spoiler like that[?] Or would I...." While Shake hasn't said anything else about the matter, Instagram users have flocked to his most recent posts. Convinced that Shake revealed the truth about the fate of his engagement with Deepti, one person commented that they saw Shake write on another woman's pictures, to which another replied that they also saw them. A third user simply wrote, "#decieving." While the evidence seems to be mounting against Shake, other fans are giving him the benefit of the doubt, as he and Deepti both revealed that they were on airplanes around the same time.
With a relationship as up and down as Shake and Deepti's, anything could happen despite what is being shared on social media. Since Shake has primarily focused on the physical aspects of love instead of the emotional, it wouldn't come as a surprise to see that these two are not husband and wife. On the other hand, perhaps Shake did have a true breakthrough in his feelings for Deepti in episode 9. After Shake's newest Instagram stories, fans are more anticipated for Friday than ever.
