Netflix has released the first trailer for Love Is Blind season 2. The first season, which premiered in February 2020, was a very buzzy hit for the streaming service. It even produced spin-offs like Love Is Blind Japan. Now, two years later, a new season of the original series is finally set to premiere.

The premise of the dating series is that, as the title suggests, contestants get to know one another while having no idea what the other looks like. The 30 singles are separated into individual rooms known as "the pods" and can only form connections via conversation. And there's another very bold twist. Individuals can only see the person they've fallen for after they've agreed to get married. The show then switches to Mexico City, where couples plan their weddings, though not every pair will actually go through with it. While that may sound absurd, the first season actually formed some very successful couples. Netflix released a Love Is Blind season 2 teaser back in January. But this latest video is the best look yet at the new season.

On Wednesday, February 2, Netflix released the trailer for Love Is Blind season 2 on YouTube. The two-minute-long trailer starts by teasing plenty of drama, with contestants breaking down and questioning their connections. Married celebrity couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey, who hosted the first season, are back for season 2. As soon as Vanessa announces the series' signature pods are open, contestants scurry to the rooms where they hope to find love. "This would be an awesome story to tell our kids...I met your dad in a social experiment where I was dating 14 other guys," jokes contestant Iyanna McNeely. "It's like, 'I'm sorry, what, mom?!'" Netflix introduced Love Is Blind season 2 contestants including Iyanna, a 27-year-old Program Coordinator, on February 1. The trailer briefly showcases multiple contestants. Danielle Ruhl, who is 29 years old, opens up about her insecurities surrounding her weight. Jarrette Jones, 32, proclaims that he doesn't care what the women he's speaking to look like. Proposals appear to go as planned. But if the dramatic opening of the Love Is Blind season 2 trailer isn't enough, there's even more confrontations teased later.

As fans of Love Is Blind season 1 know, an engagement doesn't always mean a happy ending. The trailer teases a fallout once contestants arrive in Mexico City. For instance, one parent is shown refusing to give their blessing. And it's also made clear that many, many tears will be shed over the 10 episodes. Time will tell if the Love Is Blind season 2 contestants actually do find love.

One thing that might help the odds is that the new contestants are all residents of Chicago, Illinois. This would seem to eliminate the long-distance issues that have plagued many other dating show couples. Despite the wacky premise, the Netflix series does have a pretty good track record so far. Love Is Blind season 1 fan-favorites Lauren and Cameron Hamilton are still happily married and also thriving in their careers. The first 5 episodes of Love Is Blind season 2 premiere on Friday, February 11. The next batch will air a week later, on February 18. Then the finale is set for February 25. At this time, it's unknown if Love Is Blind season 2 will have a reunion special like season 1.
