Warning! SPOILERS ahead for the Love Is Blind season 2 finale below!

After so many declarations of love and heartwarming serenades, Salvador Perez decided not to get married to Mallory Zapata during the Love Is Blind season 2 finale and fans are curious to find out why he made that decision. Despite Mallory's initial connection with Jarrette Jones in the pods, viewers felt like Salvador and Mallory were shoo-ins to go all the way to the altar and say "I do" to each other, particularly when compared to other couples on the show.

While they did stumble a few times over the course of Love Is Blind season 2 and had a few passionate arguments, it always seemed like Sal and Mallory figured things out in the end. Besides Mallory's pod connection with Jarrette, the biggest obstacle they faced was that Salvador couldn't get the blessing from Mallory's family to marry her on the show. In any case, fans saw Salvador telling the Love Is Blind cameras that he was fine moving forward with their marriage anyway.

Alas, the Love Is Blind season 2 finale showed Salvador telling Mallory that he couldn't get married to her at the altar, which was absolutely shocking to the guests in attendance and the viewers at home. Sal gave out a few excuses as to why he couldn't go through with the marriage, whereas Mallory left it up in the air whether or not she would've said "I do" to him in response. In truth, however, it appears that Salvador got cold feet to marry Mallory due to how uninvolved and unsupportive her family seemed to be about this entire experience. Salvador got to the Love Is Blind altar after having only met her sister one time. He never got to meet her parents and extended family, and those family members never got to attend their wedding, either.

After telling Mallory he couldn't get married to her, Salvador had a conversation with her where it was made clear he still had feelings for her. It also appeared that Mallory felt strongly about him as well. On the other hand, it seemed like both of them agreed that they needed more time together before marriage, particularly when it came to Sal establishing a relationship with her family (and potentially getting their blessing). Meanwhile, the edit heavily suggested that Salvador and Mallory will keep dating and stay engaged for the time being, just like Giannina and Damian on Love Is Blind season 1.

Fans will have to wait until the Love Is Blind contestants are allowed to start sharing updates on social media before drawing any conclusions, but Sal did ask Mallory out on a date after they didn't get married on the show. Therefore, it was implied that they'll try to keep working on their relationship despite not tying the knot right now. In that sense, this felt more like an "I don't right now" at the altar than a straight-up "I don't" for the couple.
