Fans everywhere are wondering, did Carlton Morton and Diamond Jack get back together after the Love is Blind reunion proposal? Viewers are buzzing about the fiery couple's future after their allegedly homophobic row at the Mexico resort led to the demise of their short-lived engagement.
He and Diamond met in the pods during the first few days of courtship for the cast. It quickly became evident that the spicy singles would make a strong love match. Carlton was a bit flashy and cocky in the beginning; meanwhile Diamond was able to verbally spar with him. They seemed like a perfect fit for one another. But Carlton was harboring a deep secret that stood in the way between he and Diamond's forever after - he's sexually fluid. He was nervous about the appropriate time and way to break the news to Diamond. Once he did, she had questions - questions that Carlton was defensive about answering. During their trip to Mexico, the topic of Carlton's sexuality came up and the couple got into a nasty argument while sitting by the pool.
The fallout from their argument was swift. Both Diamond and Carlton admitted during the reunion that they received violent threats as a result of their relationship and split. They also looked embarrassed when watching the argument playback. Carlton was especially regretful that he didn't do more to salvage his marriage to Diamond, despite their disagreement. Diamond expressed her regrets about the confrontation that ultimately drove them apart. Diamond said to Carlton during their heartfelt apologies to each other on the show (via Essence): "In my way, maybe I should have approached it a lot differently and been more comforting and maybe approached it in a way of saying that, I respect you as a person."
It's pretty safe to say that given all the drama between Carlton and Diamond on Love is Blind they did NOT get back together after the show wrapped. While Diamond has admitted that she is apologetic for her part in the argument that tore them apart, she also seemed a little panicked when Carlton dropped down to one knee with a ring in hand, asking her to keep an open mind about their future and friendship together. It was a loving gesture that clearly warmed Diamond's heart, but it doesn't mean that she has to be obligated to date Carlton again.
It seems that Carlton's wish to be a husband and maybe someday, a father, could be fulfilled with a man or a woman who feels that his lifestyle is compatible with his or hers. Still, it's inspiring to see two such decisive and independent people find their way back into a friendship with each other.
