Summary

  • Nick and Vanessa Lachey hardly appear on Love Is Blind, making them forgettable and fade into the background.
  • They barely interact with the cast and provide no additional commentary or support to the engaged couples.
  • Fans of Love Is Blind have proposed better options to replace Nick and Vanessa as hosts, suggesting a single charismatic and funny host would be ideal.

Nick and Vanessa Lachey are the only hosts Love Is Blind has known, but there are several reasons why Netflix may want to hire someone else to helm upcoming seasons. Established entertainers before they married in 2011, Nick and Vanessa have hosted several reality shows, including The Sing-Off, America's Most Musical Family, Wipeout, and Top Chef Junior. In addition to heading all seasons of Love Is Blind since 2020, Nick and Vanessa hosted another Netflix reality dating program, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, which recently aired its second season.

Nick and Vanessa are still hosting Love Is Blind season 5, which premieres on September 22 on Netflix. The latest season is sure to have its share of fan favorites and villains, but when it comes to unfavorable Love Is Blind cast members, Nick and Vanessa are also on the list. Here's why Nick and Vanessa should be replaced as the hosts of Love Is Blind who could fill their spots.

Nick & Vanessa Lachey Hardly Appear On Love Is Blind

Despite being hired to headline Love Is Blind, Nick and Vanessa only make a few appearances each season. Although the duo expand on their roles when they lead each Love Is Blind reunion, Nick and Vanessa only periodically appear throughout the other episodes to welcome the cast or provide them with information they already know, such as how long the Love Is Blind experiment lasts. Once these short announcements are over, Nick and Vanessa become almost entirely forgettable and quickly fade into the background. During the reunion, Vanessa was criticized for acting erratically and prodding married cast members about future children.

Nick & Vanessa Lachey Barely Interact With The Cast

Because Nick and Vanessa are hands-off hosts who pop in occasionally, the Love Is Blind hosts have spent almost no time with each season's cast members. Unlike Married At First Sight, which features a similar concept but with relationship experts, Nick and Vanessa don't provide Love Is Blind viewers additional commentary as each engagement progresses.

In addition, while the duo has dozens of questions for the cast at the end of each season, the married couple is never seen offering help, advice, or feedback to troubled Love Is Blind engagements. Nick and Vanessa try to steer the conversation in the reunion episodes, but they don't seem to know the couples any better than audiences do.

Who Fans Would Like To See Host Love Is Blind

Since Netflix has renewed Love Is Blind for more seasons, fans of the series have proposed who should take the hosting reins from Nick and Vanessa in a Reddit thread started by u/iiiaaa2022. Many believe that Love Is Blind would benefit from having one charismatic and funny host instead of two, with potential replacements thrown around including former Are You The One? host Ryan Devlin, Andy Cohen from the Real Housewives franchise, the virtual assistant Lana from Netflix's Too Hot to Handle, and even Lauren Speed-Hamilton from Love Is Blind season 1.

While Nick and Vanessa are still the hosts, numerous better options exist to replace them. It would be ideal to have hosts that took a more central role in the show. It's better to have Nick and Vanessa host only The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On, and Queer Love and find someone else for Love Is Blind.

Love Is Blind season 5 premieres on Netflix on September 22 at 12 a.m. PST.
