This article contains major SPOILERS for the Love Is Blind season 4 finale!!!Love Is Blind season 4 star Paul Peden is opening up about the moment he decided if he would marry Micah Lussier. True to his analytical nature, the environmental scientist spent significant time fretting over the risks of saying yes or no with his groomsmen and his family. Once they were at the altar, Micah shocked their guests by deciding it would be best for Paul to answer first.

After the finale, Paul explained to Us Weekly how and why he said no. It was literally a last-minute decision, as he was "super torn" until they stood at the altar. The New Orleans native claimed his choice was ultimately made the moment he said it out loud. Despite wondering if he made a mistake immediately afterward, Paul believed, "It was the right call, I think, at the time, and it was a realization that while we did love who we were in that moment, there’s a lot more to marrying someone than just that.” However, although they had a dramatic ending, Paul insists he really did love Micah.

Love Is Blind’s Micah Admits She Wanted Paul To "Take The Risk"

Micah Lussier and Paul Peden have a tense conversation on Love Is Blind

Micah revealed to Us Weekly that her bold move was Paul's "last chance" to show how he really felt. At the time, she said the rejection wasn't a shock, because she never felt secure about his commitment. But she was hoping he was ready to "take the risk and take the jump," which was clear by her heartbroken reaction. She worried that, if she said yes first, he would do the same, even if he didn't mean it. Putting the ball in his court was the way she knew he would truly "answer from his heart."

Paul's decision meant they were the only Love Is Blind season 4 couple not to wed in the finale. Despite Micah's similarities to his own mother, Paul couldn't see having kids with her, implying she didn't have a nurturing instinct. Leading up to the altar, the former fiancés also had problems with Micah's friends. First, her pod bestie Irina openly flirted with Paul in Mexico. Then he was harshly rejected by bridesmaid Shelby. As Micah ran away from the altar sobbing, Shelby appeared to laugh, stating she was "relieved."

In the finale, Paul and Micah both seemed very sure there was no coming back from this. Paul said he couldn't even imagine marrying her ten years from now. His ex indicated his saying I do was his last chance to choose her. Micah also had a connection with Kwame Appiah, who surprisingly married Chelsea Griffin. Now that it's over, one of them could officially reveal if Natalie Lee's claims about Micah and Paul were true. The season was filmed a year ago, so its possible things changed. Viewers won't have to wait too long to find out for sure.

The Love Is Blind season 4 live reunion will air on Netflix Sunday, April 16th.
