When fans began watching season 2 of Netflix's Love Is Blindit was clear that some things would remain the same. Cast members would chat in pods before deciding if they wanted to propose, they would see each other and go to Mexico, and then they would have a few weeks before a wedding. Viewers could tell that the same drama and complications from season 1 would arise in these new episodes since it's a very emotional and tense situation.

While many parts of Love Is Blind have stayed the same, there have been some things in season 2 that stand out and feel different from season 1.

Season 2 Was Filmed In Chicago, Not Atlanta

Love Is Blind has had great cast members and the setting has also been fascinating. Both seasons saw cast members talking in the pods, going on vacation in Mexico, moving into an apartment together, and showing each other their apartments or houses while having dates around the city where they live.

There is one big difference between seasons 1 and 2 of the hit reality show and that's the main setting. While season 1 was filmed in Atlanta, season 2 was all about couples who live in Chicago.

The Families Got More Screen Time In Season 2

Even though season 1's "Meet The Parents" episodes saw Lauren and Cameron meeting each other's families, and Jessica had dinner with Mark's family as well, season 2 seemed to focus on a lot more on the family members.

When Shake and Deepti each had dinner at their parents' houses, the scenes were sweet and heartwarming, and fans loved when Shake's mom praised Deepti's intelligence and strength and told Shake to figure out his feelings. Natalie's parents embraced Shayne, and it was emotional watching Shayne's mom, who had just lost her husband a few months earlier, support Shayne and Natalie's love story. Viewers were also riveted by the tense meeting between Kyle and Shaina's parents and brothers.

Season 2 Has Two Love Triangles Instead Of One

Love triangles are always a juicy part of a TV drama or romantic comedy movie, and Love Is Blind has a lot of intense ones. It turned out that season 2 had even more than the previous installment.

In season 1, fans were captivated by Jessica having feelings for Barnett, who proposed to Amber. This left Jessica to explore how she felt about Mark. In season 2, Mallory liked both Jarrette and Sal, and Shaina felt something for Shayne and Kyle. The connections in season 2 have made the series even more bingeworthy.

Shaina Left Mexico, But Jessica Stayed

There are many comparisons between Love Is Blind cast members, and fans have noticed the parallel between season 2's Shaina and season 1's Jessica. These cast members even had similar feelings early on in the series: wanting to go home and stop the experiment.

Jessica wanted to quit Love Is Blind but had to remain on the series because of her contract. Viewers saw Shaina tell Kyle that they should sleep in separate hotel rooms in Mexico, and then by the end of the episode, Shaina had flown home to Chicago.

The Cast Members Shared More Personal Stories In Season 2

While the season 1 cast did talk about their lives and their pasts, there was a lot of vulnerability in the season 2 pods.

Iyanna and Jarrette talked about difficult moments that they have dealt with, and Danielle was very honest with Nick about losing weight and feeling insecure. By the time that the season 2 couples got engaged and met in person, viewers felt like they had formed a really solid connection.

Jarrette Asked Mallory About Proposing

In season 1 of the reality show, the proposals were shocking yet it was clear which people had bonded while talking in the pods.

In season 2, there was a dramatic moment when Jarrette asked Mallory if she would say yes if he asked her to marry him. When Mallory said that she cared about him but had connected more with Sal, Jarrette was heartbroken and it was tough to watch. This scene felt more high stakes than anything in season 1 and made it impossible not to keep watching.

Jessica And Amber Interacted More Than Shaina And Natalie

Jessica and Mark's Love Is Blind romance had many highs and lows, and it was clear that Jessica's heart wasn't totally in it from the start. As Jessica tried to figure out how she felt about Mark, she continued to chat with Barnett when she saw him, which caused drama with Barnett's now wife Amber. Jessica and Amber also had some tense moments in the season 1 reunion episode and the three-part After The Altar special.

In season 2, Shaina might have told Shayne that he and Natalie had a "comical" relationship, and the show suggested that she would come between them. But Shaina and Natalie interacted much and didn't have a lot of drama. While Shaina told Natalie that she could set Natalie up with someone, that phone call happened off-camera.

The Season 1 Couples Seemed More Sure They Would Get Married

The first nine episodes of season 2 were packed with action as many cast members were unsure if they would say yes on their wedding day. It seemed like every couple was dealing with emotions and doubts, from Shake talking about his chemistry with Deepti to Iyanna wondering if she and Jarrette's schedules were too different.

In season 1, Kelly and Kenny seemed to be happy together throughout many of the episodes, and Barnett and Amber and Lauren and Cameron were solid from the beginning. While Jessica was unsure about Mark, Mark seemed like he would say yes, and Giannina and Damian also seemed very much in love. In season 2, every couple had questions and doubts and by the end of episode 9, it wasn't clear who would get married.

The Rings Were Talked About More In Season 2

Engagement rings are a subject of conversation in season 2 of Love Is Blind, something that stands out more in these new episodes than in season 1.

When told Mallory that he knew that she wanted a gold ring, which she didn't get from Sal, fans couldn't look away from the tense conversation.  Kyle also gave Shaina his mom's ring, a big gesture made even more complicated when he learned that she didn't share his hopeful feeling about the future.

Season 2 Couples Talked About Past Relationships More

From Jarrette and Iyanna talking about how they felt about being friendly with ex-partners to Mallory and Sal fighting about his ex visiting his sisters, season 2 of Love Is Blind had some dramatic scenes that were all about past relationships.

Talking about past loves is always an awkward but necessary part of falling for someone, and it's definitely interesting that the season 2 couples discussed this topic sometimes.
