Matt Barnett, better known as Barnett, made quite the impression on the new reality dating show Love is Blind, when he had three woman trying to win his heart by the end of the first episode. Though he was initally looked at as a villian for leading on women, he seemed to has finally made his choice and is very confident in his choice. With the finale out today on Netflix, the Georgia native finally reveals why he chose his fiancée Amber Pike over Jessica Batten.

Love is Blind's unique style of pairing couples has caused quite the stir among audiences. Thanks to Barnett, viewers were able to witness the complications of a love triangle in the pilot episode. Through engaging conversation, heightened with a bold sense of humor, he gained the attention of regional manager Jessica Batten, ex-tank mechanic Amber Pike and recruiter Lauren Chamblin (LC). While some were intrigued with his multiple connections others felt he was a villain, especially Jessica and LC, who felt they were toyed with during his period of indecisiveness.

Initially, Barnett expresses a strong interest into Jessica, even going as far as saying he was ready to propose to her. To her surprise, the next day he hesitates to reiterate those feelings which caused the 34-year-old to storm out her pod. Ultimately, this also led her to reevaluate her first connection with Mark Cuevas. Left with Amber and LC, the engineer ponders back and forth on who he believes he connects with more. In the end, with only a month of conversation shared between them, he chooses Amber as his bride to be.

Ahead of the shows season finale, Entertainment Weekly spoke with Barnett and received the answer to the burning question, why he chose Amber. Barnett reveals he thought Jessica was just a reflection of her job, a salesperson trying to sell herself to him. Barnett revealed, "With Jessica, I got this thought in my head that she was just a salesperson because I knew that’s what she had done in the past." And though he considered LC to be the most like him he didn't think they made a love connection. Barnett stated, "My mindset was like I could see LC because we were so alike, but then again, I realized that it would be a better friendship than actually a marriage." When it comes to his bride of choice he believes Amber had the fire he needed in his life.

Barnett has proven to be a great source of entertainment for Netflix's reality show Love is Blind. In one episode, he successfully won the hearts of three women sight unseen. As with most love stories there are some heartbreaks. Jessica felt misled and LC was left brokenhearted, inquiring why isn't she ever the one chosen. Barnett went with who lit his soul on fire. It's only a matter of time before it's revealed if that fire is a lasting one.
