Kelly Chase and Kenny Barnes starred in the inaugural season of the hit Netflix dating show in 2020, but just ahead of the Love Is Blind season 4 finale, Kelly revealed surprising details about her breakup with Kenny on her Instagram. Although Kenny proposed to Kelly after just a couple of dates in the pods, they were one of the less solid couples of Love Is Blind season 1. For example, two couples from that season--Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton, as well as Amber Pike and Matt Barnett--are still married. While Kelly and Kenny seemed to love each other, specific compatibility issues surrounding intimacy raised red flags.
However, certain details are now coming to light about Kelly and Kenny’s wedding day. Kelly recently took to Instagram to share her struggles during filming leading up to the wedding day. She kept telling producers and Kenny that her “head and heart weren’t connecting,” which she said in Love Is Blind season 1.
However, Kelly released a part 2 the next day. In this new video, she said she allegedly told production she had a bad gut feeling, but they told her “things could change.” She then apparently attempted to convince herself to go through with the wedding because he “checks off all of her boxes.”
Kelly From Love Is Blind Season 1 Reveals Unknown Details About Kenny Breakup
Shockingly, Kelly revealed in her second Instagram Reel that she discussed her anxieties two days before the wedding with Kenny, and he said not to worry because they wouldn’t be getting married. Love Is Blind fans were shocked, with one viewer writing in the comments section, “Definitely need a part 3 because I want to know why Kenny was so mad when you said no when he knew you guys weren’t getting married.” Other fans were skeptical, with one user commenting, “I don’t get it - Kenny knew you would say no? He seemed surprised on the show...was that an act?”
Kelly was apparently incredibly close to saying yes at the altar despite her and Kenny’s discussion. However, despite Kelly and Kenny's agreement to not get married and instead continue dating each other, Kenny appeared shocked and hurt at the altar in November 2018 when they had already discussed they wouldn’t be getting married. They also didn’t date afterward and instead broke up for good. This new information completely changes Kenny’s reaction and definitely requires a follow-up from Kelly. She definitely seems to have left Love Is Blind fans hanging.
Love Is Blind alum Kelly has only posted two parts on her Instagram thus far. However, there's clearly a desire for answers about why Kenny’s reaction was so angry if they had discussed beforehand they wouldn’t be getting married. Hopefully, Kelly will reveal more information to clear the air on her breakup with Kenny before the Love Is Blind season 4 finale, which is coming up on April 14.
