Warning! SPOILERS ahead for Love Is Blind season 2 episodes 1-5 below!

Traveling to a new country can sometimes make you feel sick as you try different foods and are taken out of your element, and that's exactly what happened to Danielle Ruhl during the couples' retreat from Love Is Blind season 2 in Mexico. Netflix viewers got to know Danielle on Love Is Blind as a 29-year-old associate director of marketing. In the pods, she talked about struggling with her body when she was younger and even now still feeling a little insecure about the way she looks sometimes.

Nick Thompson was always understandable and supportive of all of Danielle's struggles as she detailed them in the pods. Things also seemed to be going great between them even after they met and he got to one knee to propose. Subsequently, Nick and Danielle embarked on a trip to Mexico to enjoy a couples' retreat with their fellow co-stars. Unfortunately, though, right on the night when all of the Love Is Blind season 2 co-stars were supposed to come together and meet one another, Danielle felt suddenly very sick and couldn't attend the party.

Not a lot of information was given out about Danielle's sickness during the Mexico trip. However, the final edit left just enough clues for fans to draw certain conclusions. This particular scene started with Nick and Danielle inside their hotel room. They sat on the bed and Nick asked Danielle if she wanted a piece of bread or toast. In response, Danielle said that she couldn't eat anything without throwing it all up. Danielle added that she couldn't even drink water without feeling sick at that point in time. She then reminded Nick that they ate and drank quite a bit the night before. Nick recalled, "We ordered two dinners," and Danielle added, "I ate a lot. That really did me in." These contextual clues from Love Is Blind indicate that Danielle either had some kind of food poisoning or ate more than she could handle that night.

It's not that rare for tourists to get a little bit sick in the stomach when traveling to foreign countries and experimenting with types of food that they might've never had before. And even if a person is familiar with all the foods they eat during a trip, the preparation of those meals can also play a role in how a body is able to digest it all. Aside from all of those things, it should be noted that Danielle and her co-stars are going through the roller-coaster journey that Love Is Blind is, so that could have also taken a toll on her body.

Later that night, Danielle and Nick also got into a huge fight that didn't really help things. Thankfully, they did seem to recover from that situation the next day by spending quality time together and talking things out. Fans will have to keep tuning in to find out if Nick and Danielle will make it to the altar at the end of Love Is Blind season 2.
