Netflix's reality TV show, Love is Blind has been a massive hit for streaming giant Netflix. It also has a pretty decent romance success rate, with three of the six couples featured on the series still together. The only two Love is Blind couples to get married are still married and Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli are still happily dating. However, fans are wondering why there was no mention of the Danielle Drouin complicated story.

It has been a whirlwind for the six couples featured on Love is Blind, as they’ve found love in only a few days, some have gotten married, and those married had to keep it a secret for a year and a half. The couples have experienced on-screen and off-screen many difficult moments, from fights to being told "I do not" at the altar. Netflix focused heavily on these six romances, but they weren’t the only couples to become engaged while filming Love is Blind. To fans' surprise, two other couples became engaged.

Lexie Skipper and Westley Baer, and Danielle Drouin and Rory Newbrough were also engaged after falling in love in the Love is Blind pods. Lexie, Westley, and Danielle were barely shown on the Love is Blind episodes, but Rory became a mysterious love guru to the fans. The Love is Blind episodes often showed him giving the other men advice about their developing relationships. Rory revealed to Women’s Health that Danielle and him had an instant connection. She was the first pod he visited and knew by day six that he wanted to propose to her. The Love is Blind unpaid therapist even said he couldn’t stop crying once they met in person. Rory and Danielle’s love story sounds very sweet, but unfortunately, it didn’t last as both couples have split since their engagement.

Love is Blind creator Chris Coelen revealed during an EW interview that Rory and Danielle were only engaged for a short time before they broke up and she started dating another Love is Blind contestant, Matt Thomas. Rory also mentioned this development during his interview with Women’s Health. He stated that it was very real for him, but it "just wasn’t as real for her once she thought more through it." She left Rory to pursue her feelings for Matt T.

Apparently, the Love is Blind producers didn’t expect so many successful love stories. They only wanted to follow five (ended up with eight engagements and filmed six couples). Rory and Danielle were sent away to have their own honeymoon in Miami.  The Love is Blind producers really dropped the ball on this one. If Danielle picked Rory, but then ended up with Matt T, that could have been a very compelling storyline. It had a similar nature to the conflicting feelings Matt Barnett had before picking Amber Pike over LC Chamblin and Jessica Batten, and Jessica’s continuous doubts about marrying Mark Cuevas.

Audiences would have loved to see the triangle playout and Danielle eventual decision to go be with Matt instead of Rory. The reunion special could have been even crazier and more dramatic with another broken engagement, especially one that resulted in a new relationship with another former contestant. However, Matt and Danielle’s relationship status is still unsure at the moment, since neither have confirmed or denied if they’re still together on their social media pages.
