The relationship between Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli has looked anything but healthy throughout their weeks-long engagement, and now it’s time for the Love Is Blind couple to say “I do.” Will Powers dismiss the warning signs that are extremely clear to the audience and make it official with a woman he appears not compatible at all with?

We didn’t see a whole lot of Powers and Gibelli in the beginning portion of Love Is Blind when they were in the pods. The show focused on other relationships, like Matt Barnett's love triangle, and Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed's speedy engagement. Still, Powers was one of six men to propose to his future fiancée, sight unseen. Five couples made it past  Cancun, and that’s where the Powers-Gibelli relationship really started to unravel. Neither of them had a good way of handling conflict, and it led to several combustible moments. They found that they didn’t see eye to eye on important issues like politics. When Powers’ parents decided they weren’t ready to meet Gibelli’s parents before the wedding, it added another layer of complexity. Nonetheless, they stayed with one another.

The final episode of the second set, which dropped on Thursday, leaves off on the cliffhanger of whether or not Powers will agree to marry Gibelli. She is already committed, even though she’d likely be better off leaving Powers behind. They have worked on communicating better as time has gone on, but with a relationship built on such a rocky foundation, it seems like if Powers did say “I do”, their marriage wouldn’t last long.

It started out nice with these two, a couple of people who were very different but determined to make it work. It is normal for a married couple to fight, but considering they’d only known each other for a few weeks, their arguments had to be perceived as giant red flags. And some of them weren't tame disagreements. They were the kind of quarrels that would make a child lock the door and quiver in their room.

Love Is Blind appears to be pushing for as many of the engaged couples to at least make it to the altar. Of the six relationships that formed in the pods (that we saw), five will hold a wedding. The will-he-won’t-he teaser of Powers taking his time could just be a cliffhanger for dramatic effect. Or it could be a sign that the wedding is just a setup to create a manufactured dramatic moment.
