One of the wildest moments in Love Is Blind history took place when Andrew Liu put eye drops in to fake his tears after being dumped by Nancy Rodriguez. Andrew had seemed full of himself from the start, going on and on in the pods and in confessionals about his expense accounts and his extensive travel. Nancy, the only women he really connected with, appeared to be internally battling whether she was impressed by his endless résumé or put off by his self-centeredness. Ultimately, while she was turned on by his sexual energy, she couldn't see herself fitting into his life.

Fans are freaking out about Andrew's confessional after Nancy said no to his proposal. Andrew asked producers if he could put eye drops in and then pretended as though he was crying about being rejected. It was a removal of the fourth wall that fans are not often privy to, and Andrew clearly didn't think that part of the interview would be shown. The edit was possibly pointing to Nancy accepting Andrew's proposal, so the shock of the rejection was coupled with the fact that Andrew had duped Nancy all along.

Was Andrew Liu Playing A Character To Nancy Rodriguez on Love Is Blind?

At first, Andrew came off as just a strange dude who had no social awareness that most women would not want to hear him talk about himself the entire time. After his eye drop stunt, though, it's worth asking whether Andrew was playing up this character of a super-sophisticated, well-traveled man for the cameras. He wanted to get to the next step of the show, but was he planning to get all the way to the altar with Nancy? And if his lifestyle wasn't really as lavish as he claimed, wouldn't Nancy find out once they had an opportunity to live together?

What is evident is that Andrew clearly hadn't watched that much reality TV before, otherwise he would have known the producers would leave the eye drop clip in. The producers are there first and foremost to make good TV, not to make their contestants look good, especially if they're up to something shady. This was clearly the case with Andrew.

Last season, Abishek "Shake" Chaterjee proposed to Deepti Vempati and she said yes. It was an obvious mistake, and viewers and fellow contestants alike didn't love having to watch Shake act like a jerk for the remainder of the season. This time, fans of Love Is Blind got exactly what they need. They saw someone act like a fool, but they didn't have to worry about Nancy being tricked by a guy who was just looking for fame. Unfortunately for Nancy, the man she chose instead of Andrew isn't a whole lot better.
