Jessica is having an emotional breakdown on Love During Lockup after finding out her boyfriend Dustin Phillips might be facing additional charges, according to a preview clip. The season has followed Jessica's dedication to Dustin, her much-younger boyfriend who's incarcerated in another state. The two met while Jessica worked as a nurse for the Department of Justice. Jessica lost her job for dating an inmate and was willing to leave her teenage daughter in Florida with her father and relocate to Tennessee to be with Dustin.
But her plans of living happily ever after with Dustin might have come to an end after Jessica learned of the new charges Dustin is facing that could keep him in prison even longer. An exclusive Love During Lockup season finale preview clip, courtesy of WeTV, shows Jessica receiving a phone call from Dustin's sister Desiree informing her of the bad news. "Dustin might get more time added to his sentence," Desiree tells Jessica. "We don't know for sure yet." When Jessica asks when they will know, Desiree admits it likely won't be "for a while." That's when Jessica loses it and breaks down crying. "I cannot do anything more," she says. "I can't help him this time." Desiree reminds Jessica that the new charges are because of Dustin's actions while in prison. "He did this," Desiree says.
Love During Lockup's Jessica & Dustin Have Been Together 'Five Months'
Just ahead of receiving the call, Jessica is preparing her daughter Bailey, 17, for life in Florida without her. Jessica has an offer on a house in Tennessee and is ready to relocate to be with Dustin. "Dustin and I have been together for about five months," the Love During Lockup star says during her confessional before revealing he will be "in the box" for another 60 days. "I don't think I'm making a bad decision to move on with my life with Dustin," she says. Jessica trusts in the "risk" of moving her life to Tennessee to be with Dustin. She wants Bailey to stay in Florida with her dad and her friends until she figures out her life in Tennessee.
That was before she learned that Dustin is facing additional charges. The charges likely stem from Dustin getting caught using drugs while incarcerated. Jessica learned of this while on a visit with Dustin that was terminated. The cameras caught Jessica after she had her visit cut short due to Dustin's actions. Jessica was under the impression that the visit was cut short due to her history of working for the DOJ. The Love During Lockup star said those who lose their job for dating inmates are looked down upon by those who still work for corrections.
It was during Jessica's visit to Tennessee when she met Dustin's family, who revealed his addiction to methamphetamine. Dustin's sister told Jessica that her brother struggled with drug addiction and has never been faithful in any of his past relationships. Jessica went on to reveal the giant stomach tattoo she has of Dustin's last name. Jessica's dedication to Dustin after just five months of dating is the perfect example of the types of hopeless romantics that end up on Love During Lockup. Now with Dustin facing more time, Love During Lockup fans will have to wait and see if Jessica continues to stick it out until he's released.
