Although Kyle Abrams and Deepti Vempati revealed that they were dating during Love Is Blind's After The Altar special, Deepti's ex-fiancé, Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee, claimed that the duo are faking their relationship. In Love Is Blind season 2, which saw six couples become engaged after forming a connection while physically separated in "pods," Kyle popped the question to Shaina Hurley, while Shake proposed to Deepti. While the four were able to finally meet their respective partners when they moved on to the next part of the social experiment, both engagements quickly began to disintegrate. Shaina, who expressed feelings for Shayne Jansen, ended things with Kyle halfway through the season. Shake and Deepti, on the other hand, made it all the way to their wedding day before Deepti rejected Shake at the altar.

Shortly after Love Is Blind season 2 concluded in February, rumors quickly began to circulate that Deepti moved on from Shake with Kyle after filming. Although Kyle and Deepti attended Coachella together in April and were seen on each other's social media accounts, the duo refused to comment on the speculation surrounding them. It wasn't until the Love Is Blind: After The Altar special was released on September 16 that Kyle and Deepti finally confirmed their relationship. In addition to awkwardly revisiting now-separated couples Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones, as well as Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson, Love Is Blind viewers watched as Kyle and Deepti referred to themselves as "best friends" before kissing at the end of the three-part update.

While many fans of Love Is Blind have expressed their congratulations towards Deepti and Kyle following After The Altar, Shake hasn't shied away from expressing his doubts about their relationship. In response to Deepti releasing her debut book I Choose Myself on September 16, Shake shared another Instagram user's Story that inquired about whether Deepti and Kyle are still together today. "The answer is no," Shake declared to his followers before accusing the duo of faking their relationship since the beginning of the year. Describing Deepti and Kyle's decision to date on After The Altar as a "mutually decided upon PR stunt," Shake accused his Love Is Blind co-stars of doing "anything for clout" before calling them "pathetic."

Love Is Blind star Shake Chatterjee's Instagram Story

Although it's hard to tell how true Shake's claims are, Deepti's short-lived fiancé has publicly doubted Kyle and Deepti's relationship since they were initially spotted together in March. In addition, the controversial reality star has used his Instagram account to rant about his Love Is Blind experience for months. While Shake eventually apologized to Deepti for his comments towards her, that hasn't deterred him from expressing his feelings about Deepti, Kyle and even the Love Is Blind crew. In addition to previously calling Deepti out for "playing the victim" and referring to Kyle as a "little b****" and a "serial cheater," Shake also accused host Nick Lachey and the Love Is Blind producers of favoritism and manipulation online.

Unfortunately, Shake's upfront personality and unabashed opinions have long-solidified him as the Love Is Blind season 2 villain, and despite what Shake may reveal online, it's unlikely that will change. While Deepti and Kyle were shown taking their friendship to the next level on After The Altar, Shake has been in a relationship with his girlfriend, Emily Wilson, since March. Now that Love Is Blind season 2 is officially over, fans only have to wait until Love Is Blind season 3 premieres in October. Although fans will no doubt continue to keep an eye on Kyle and Deepti, they'll also be waiting to see what else Shake has to say and if he'll comment on the new season.

Love Is Blind season 3 premieres October 19 on Netflix.
