Deepti Vempati & Abhishek 'Shake' Chatterjee matched on Love Is Blind, but Deepti left Shake at the altar when he wasn't all in, and now sparks might be flying with Salvador Perez. Salvador, affectionately known as Sal, initially matched with Mallory Zapata. However, at the altar, Sal also chose not to go all-in with Mallory. Though the pair separated on better terms than Deepti and Shake, it doesn't look like they've rekindled things.
Both original couples started on good terms. However, Jarrette Jones proposed to Mallory first, and she turned him down because she had a deeper emotional connection to Sal. Eventually, Mallory got a chance to talk to Jarrette in person, and there was palpable chemistry. Mallory admitted Jarrette was her type, a guys guy who shares her love of football. On Jarrette's end, though he had a connection with Mallory, his relationship with Iyanna McNeely was cemented. On Mallory's end, the long conversation was enough to ruffle Sal's feathers. The preexisting connection was part of why Sal couldn't marry Mallory. At the same event, Shake took it upon himself to tell Jarrette that while he felt like Deepti was a best friend, he didn't have the "animalistic" attraction to her that he was looking for. This topic came up over and over again. From comparing Deepti to his aunt to having his mother say she deserved more, it wasn't looking good.
When it comes to the possibility of Sal and Deepti being together, fans can point to two points of evidence. Deepti and Sal posted two photos together on Instagram during a cast trip to Las Vegas. The first was a selfie of the two looking very cozy in matching white blazers with the hashtag "unShakeable vibes." Deepti, an IT Analyst from Chicago, did not like how Shake talked about her on the show and isn't afraid to say it. The not-so-subtle dig at Shake also indicated a serious relationship could be unfolding between Sal and Deepti. Katie LenLen on TikTok did a video on Sal and Deepti's first post together last Friday evening. She commented, "It looks like a bunch of people are in Vegas. I don't know if they are doing a press junket or what's going on." Deepti posted photos with the Love Is Blind ladies on Instagram from the trip as well.
Katie said she liked Sal but didn't ship the couple as "Deepti deserves a king." When Sal's king status was revoked is unclear. Deepti also posted a photo with Sal at the pop-up Love Is Blind wedding chapel in Las Vegas, where the pair are holding champagne and the iconic Love Is Blind gold glasses. Deepti's story also revealed that she would be joining Nick Viall on the Viall Files podcast to spill further details on her Love Is Blind experience and possibly her new connection with Sal.
Whatever questions don't get answered with Nick should be at the Love Is Blind reunion next week. Deepti has built an immense fanbase by standing up for herself to Shake. Watching the show back has only fueled her support as Shake's commentary about his sexual interest in Deepti behind closed doors was offensive for both her and her family to witness on screen. The reunion should give Shake a chance to clarify his side of the story and Sal to explain how things ended with Mallory. If Sal and Deepti are dating, it will be a non-traditional win for Love Is Blind, and fans beyond Katie will likely be thrilled to see them happy.
