Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson were the first Love Is Blind season 2 couple to get engaged, but they've struggled with open dialogue ever since. Many of the potential couples were dating multiple people at once. However, Nick and Danielle only had eyes for each other. When it came to the reveal, they couldn't have been more enamored with each other. Things didn't stay perfect for long though, as Love Is Blind season 2 is getting raves for bringing more drama than season 1.

When the honeymoon came into play, things got a little rockier. Danielle got food poisoning, which wasn't any specific party's fault, but this led to Nick going to a group event on his own. As mentioned, Nick didn't have any other significant connections in the pods. The event was an opportunity for many of the participants to come face to face with the one who got away, but not for Nick. That didn't stop a very queasy Danielle from assuming the worst. She went so far as to spy on the group event from her balcony and was clearly anxious. When Nick returned, she confronted him, asking if anything happened with another woman. Exasperated, he said that absolutely nothing was happening. He also stated that he would have rather been with Danielle. The erratic outburst made fans think that Love Is Blind's Danielle and Nick won't last.

As time went on, there were more ups and downs for the couple, and it became increasingly clear that Nick would have to do some work to help Danielle overcome her insecurities. The pair had a good moment visiting each of their families. Danielle's mom has a bubbly personality and may have been a little over-eager to welcome Nick into the family. She also asked too many questions about their sex life. Nick was a little shocked but felt good about the family's open communication and endless laughter. What was a good afternoon featuring plenty of white wine turned into a tense event. Nick had some conflicts with his friends that he needed to deal with, and Danielle was infuriated that he couldn't just be happy that her family loved him. Fans were already missing Love Is Blind's Danielle's mom Wendy and her wine rants. Nick pointed out that it was a great moment, but it wasn't the only thing going on for him that day.

Danielle cupping her head in her hand, smiling and blushing in the pod on Love is Blind.

Danielle's insecurities kept her in her head and made it seem like she thought the world revolved around her. By the Chicago river, she had more to say about the tensions: "All of my flaws kind of bubble up to the surface, and I don't want to go into a marriage where I'm not confident in myself." Nick reiterated that while he was frustrated, he would always be patient. He shared, "I may not get how you feel in every moment, but that doesn't mean that I don't love you," and "I'm going to love you at your worst, trust me on that." Episode 9 ended on a cliffhanger, and viewers wondered if Nick truly could commit to Danielle and her mood swings. Nick from Love Is Blind may thrive as the gossip MVP of season 2, but not Danielle's husband.

Time will tell if Nick is ready to lock it down for life. A successful relationship for Danielle and Nick will require a lot of listening skills. If Nick can lean back and let Danielle vent before jumping in, they might have a chance. If Danielle can believe that Nick is present, she can stop jumping to conclusions about what he is thinking. Love Is Blind fans undoubtedly want the best for both of them and would love to see them make it work.
