Giannina Gibelli and Damian Powers were one of the three couples that proved love is blind on the original Netflix series, Love is Blind. Though the couple did not get married, their connection and blossoming open communication led to their currently long lasting relationship, as well as some memorable moments on the reality series. One such moment was Giannina's intimate reveal of not being satisfied with her and Damian's sex life.
Before the heart breaking scene at the altar when Damian said "I don't" to marrying Giannina, viewers had witnessed several episodes of intimate moments and heated arguments between the couple. An exchange that seems to haunt the both of them, more so Damian, is Giannina's reveal of not sharing the feeling of having the best sex of her life.
In this week's episode of Love in Sight, the fan favorite couple opened up about rewatching the jaw dropping moment. Damian shared, "To me it was hard I had to watch it four or five times over and over again to be able to... this is a year and a half later... to be able to absorb." Though he admits he was hurt, even sharing he broke down and cried when he first rewatched the scene, Damian took it as a learning experience. He explained, "I had to learn real quick maybe she's right maybe I'm not seducing her, maybe I'm not, maybe there's something I'm not doing on my end as well. And it's not fair for me to just be like oh it's the best then me get mad at her for saying it's the worst."
Giannina is known for being bold, direct and outspoken, but nothing could have prepared anyone for her on-camera reveal, not even the couple. The two both wished the conversation occurred off camera, but they also agree it was a relatable moment for fans. "I felt horrible I put him in that position in such a public way," shared Giannina, "but at the end of the day it was such a raw and real moment that I think pretty much everyone has experienced and I jut didn't feel it was anything to be ashamed of."
The uncomfortable situation for Damian may have been a shocking and entertaining moment for a reality television show but it is as they mentioned relatable. Being able to witness Damian and Giannina's up and downs is what makes them empathetic and a couple fans support.
