Abhishek "Shake" Chatterjee quickly became the villain of Love Is Blind season 2 due to his blunt honesty and quick tongue, but despite all of Shake's transgressions on the show, he did have moments where he raised some interesting points. Love Is Blind follows single men and women looking for love without getting to see each other. Tasked with getting to know strangers while physically separated in "pods," the main Love Is Blind cast members can only meet face-to-face once they enter an engagement, with the couples having to decide whether to marry weeks later.

Although Shake failed to impress most of the women in the pods, he ultimately formed a connection with Love Is Blind season 2's Deepti Vempati, which led to their engagement. From the moment Shake and Deepti met, where Shake unabashedly grabbed her butt, viewers became concerned that he wouldn't be a good partner. As Love Is Blind season 2 progressed, the criticism against Shake dramatically increased as he primarily focused on Deepti's physical attributes and even admitted that being with her felt like he was "dating his aunt." After watching the chaotic season unfold, Love Is Blind fans were overwhelmingly ecstatic when Deepti rejected Shake on their wedding day.

Since the Love Is Blind season 2 finale and dramatic reunion earlier this year, Shake has routinely criticized the Netflix series and his co-stars online for various reasons. While Shake, who called out Love Is Blind's editing, has made some seriously problematic comments on and off camera, there are times when he hasn't been completely wrong. In fact, Shake has made many points about Love Is Blind that may have a grain of truth to them.

Shake Accuses Love Is Blind Producers Of Manipulation

While most reality shows promise viewers 100% authenticity, it's no secret that many are scripted in some capacity. Although dating programs like Love Is Blind are real and feature genuine relationships, it's not unusual for crews to set scenes up before filming, such as decorating a location. Shortly after Love Is Blind season 2 concluded, Shake accused the producers of manipulating the cast's storylines and called out Love Is Blind host Nick Lachey for favoritism. While Nick, Netflix, and the rest of the Love Is Blind cast denied Shake's claims, it wouldn't be surprising if the show curated at least one element, no matter how small.

If each Love Is Blind star was known for one phrase, Shake's would be "Love Is Blurry," which he coined during the Love Is Blind season 2 reunion. Although Shake's proposal that it's nearly impossible to blindly fall in love was criticized due to his unnecessary quips, Shake's assertion that it takes more than an emotional connection for marriage to succeed wasn't incorrect. Only two couples from Love Is Blind season 1 are still together as of September 2022, while none of the Love Is Blind season 2 couples survived post-filming. Although Shake was condemned as being on the wrong dating show, there's no denying that Love Is Blind doesn't boast a good track record.

Shake Calls Out His Love Is Blind Co-Stars' Behavior

While there's no denying that Shake's attitude on Love Is Blind was questionable at best and misogynistic at worst, some of his cast members also displayed some problematic antics. Shake feuded with several other Love Is Blind men online soon after the season aired, including Kyle Abrams, Nick Thompson, and Shayne Jansen. Around the same time, Shake unfollowed almost all of his co-stars online and has frequently claimed they are not only untrustworthy but exaggerating their real personalities. Shayne's treatment of former fiancé Natalie Lee was particularly criticized by Shake and Love Is Blind fans, especially after Natalie accused Shayne and Shaina Hurley of sending inappropriate text messages on After The Altar. Although Shake was no saint on Love Is Blind and has talked a lot of game since appearing on the show, not everything has been incorrect.
