Here's everything we know about Netflix's Love Alarm season 2 after season 1 of the K-drama based on the Korean webtoon of the same name. Since kicking off their original programming venture, Netflix has produced movies and TV shows in all kinds of genres, from animated TV and choose-your-own adventure specials to romcoms and prestige dramas. Now, Netflix is also delving into the world of Korean content with original series and movies made specifically for fans of K-dramas. One of these is the high concept sci-fi romance drama Love Alarm.

Based on the webtoon by Chon Kye-young, Love Alarm tells the story of three young people who come of age when the world changing app called Love Alarm is released. The app, if turned on, allows users to know who within a 10 meter radius has romantic feelings for them. Because the app is synced with the user's heart, there's no way to lie, which causes some trouble when two childhood friends - model Hwang Sun-oh (Song Kang) and his housekeeper's son Lee Hye-yeong (Jung Ga-ram) - both fall for the same girl, Kim Jojo (Kim So-hyun).

Netflix released Love Alarm season 1 on August 22, and as of October 29, Love Alarm has been renewed by Netflix for season 2. It's unclear exactly how many episodes Love Alarm season 2 will consist of, but season 1 ran eight episodes in length, so that seems like a good bet. For those who just can't wait to check out Love Alarm season 2, here's what to expect.

In terms of when Love Alarm season 2 will release on Netflix, that's largely dependent on how long it takes to craft. Love Alarm season 1 is only eight episodes, so a potential season 2 may not take too long to make. That said, season 1 was announced in early 2017 and didn't release until August 2019 - though followup seasons rarely take as long as the initial outing. Given Netflix typically releases TV show seasons about a year apart, it's possible Love Alarm season 2 could release in August 2020. But that remains to be seen.

MAJOR SPOILERS ahead for Love Alarm season 1.

Of course, fans who finished Love Alarm season 1 undoubtedly can't wait for the reveal of how that cliffhanger ending pans out. The season 1 finale ends with Jojo caught between Sun-oh and Hye-yeong, ringing both of their love alarms but unable to ring either of theirs because of the shield given to her by Cheong Duk Gu (Lee Jae-eung). A potential season 2 would no doubt give fans an answer to the question of what happens next for these three, potentially even revealing who Jojo eventually ends up with (the webtoon does continue past the point where the TV show leaves off, but is also unfinished).

Further, Love Alarm season 2 would likely show the Love Alarm 2.0 app in action. As revealed in the season 1 finale, Love Alarm 2.0 will be able to tell who will fall in love with each other, predicting how feelings will grow between two people. That's a logical next step for the app, and is a premise rich for drama, especially since it could affect Jojo's choice between Sun-oh and Hye-yeong.

Lastly, there's still the mystery surrounding the developer of Love Alarm. Viewers know Duk Gu developed the app, since he gave Jojo the unique shield tech and he's shown in the developer's bedroom before disappearing. However, the Love Alarm 2.0 presentation is given by someone who is certainly not Duk Gu. What happened to him and why the Love Alarm company is passing off someone else as the developer are questions a potential Love Alarm season 2 could answer, in addition to finally resolving the love triangle between Jojo, Sun-oh and Hye-yeong once and for all.
