When Gabby Nieves from Love After Lockup told her mother she got married to her boyfriend, Chris Graham, her mother wanted her to get an annulment, and most fans think she was right. Fans never really understood what Gabby saw in the inmate, other than the fact that he gave her between $30,000 and $40,000 from a lawsuit he won. But Gabby seemed determined to spend the rest of her life with Chris, convinced that they were true soulmates.

Gabby first appeared on Love During Lockup season 1, when Chris was still incarcerated. In Love After Lockup season 4, Chris was finally released. Gabby, who has been called a gold digger, married Chris on the street just minutes after his release, while his mother and sister waited unknowingly in Gabby’s car. Gabby’s mother had never liked the idea of her daughter dating a prisoner, so when she found out about the wedding, she was understandably furious and wanted Gabby to end the marriage immediately.

Chris Was Caught On Video Beating Gabby Severely

Love After Lockup Chris Graham

It turns out, Gabby’s mother was right about Chris all along. According to Starcasm, Chris was sent back to jail for beating Gabby severely. The fight occurred after she found out he had been cheating on her with several women and asked him to leave. Gabby posted a video of the abuse on TikTok, but it has since been removed. Fights are common on Love After Lockup, but not like this. The beating was extremely brutal. Not only did Chris break several bones, but he tried to gouge out Gabby’s eye with his finger, which is going to require surgery to fix, and may have caused permanent damage. Chris’ family tried to blame Gabby, saying she tried to stab him. Starcasm reported that Gabby responded on Instagram stories, “Don’t believe everything you hear. That man was not touched one time. He was mad because he cheated and I wanted him out of my apartment. He decided to beat me for two hours and said this is his apartment when he had no income, no nothing.

Love After Lockup Fans Are Appalled at Chris’ Violent Behavior

On Reddit, u/Illustrious-Data-251 reposted the Starcasm article, where Love After Lockup fans provided some interesting responses. “Looks like Momma was right in her ‘get an annulment’ statement,” one Redditor posted. Another fan commented, “At least she got away from him as soon as he did it. At least, that’s what it seems like. I don’t like Gabby but nobody deserves to be beaten by their spouse.” Gabby has never been a fan favorite, but the general sentiment seems to be that she did not deserve any of this, and that Chris belongs in prison.

Some viewers are upset with WeTV for continuing to air the couple’s journey on the latest season of Love After Lockup, considering that the incident took place in August 2022. They think the network should have cut Chris and Gabby out of the series, as some other reality TV shows have done when a participant's transgressions have come to light after filming has wrapped. Since WeTV is continuing to air Chris and Gabby’s story, chances are, most viewers will continue to watch the show having no idea that their violent altercation ever occurred.
