The midseason premiere of Love After Lockup was greatly anticipated by fans of the show, and a lot of them were left wondering if Chanda had been using Tyrice for money. Viewers weren't so sure that Chanda Curls was genuine.
Tyrice fell head over heels for Chanda. She was a prisoner that he met through a prison pen pal website. He was instantly attracted to her. He especially appreciated her body. Fifty-one-year old Tyrice was excited about his thirty-year-old girlfriend Chanda getting out of prison after an almost four-year stint. She was in prison for selling drugs. Her criminal past did not deter Tyrice. His heart was set on her and he was committed to making their relationship work. In preparation for her release, Tyrice bought Chanda clothes from a boutique for a pretty penny. He supported her throughout her stay in jail. When Chanda was asked about the financial support she received from Tyrice in prison, she went on to discuss how she also received money from other men. This is why a lot of people think Chanda was just using Tyrice.
In the midseason premiere, it became evident that the answer could be yes. During the episode, fans find out that Chanda hasn’t gotten back to Tyrice since he left her on the bus that was bound for the halfway house. Many viewers found this to be suspicious. According to Soap Dirt, Chanda was carving pumpkins with her two children, who aren’t part of the Love After Lockup storyline. It seems that Chanda is more focused on her relationship with her kids than her relationship with Tyrice. She seems to be adamant about making up for lost time with her children. Chanda has also undergone a reality TV-style body transformation which left her with a much fitter look. See a recent pic of Chanda below:
In her updates, Chanda has failed to mention Tyrice, and it seems clear that she has moved on from Tyrice. Viewers called her out for playing a game with Tyrice's heart, but Chanda said she did not use anyone who was not “willing to give.” She claims she is an independent woman and supports herself, but fans think otherwise. In the current episodes, it’s apparent that what remains of their relationship is Tyrice from Love After Lockup putting in all the effort.
In January 2020, Tyrice was spotted with someone new. It’s unclear how things played out, but fans will find out if Tyrice has really moved on from Chanda as the show continues.
