Comedian Louie Anderson is currently being treated for cancer. Anderson grew up in Minnesota and made his network debut as a stand-up comedian on The Tonight Show on November 20, 1984. In 1995, Anderson created and produced the Fox animated series, Life with Louie, with the show spanning three years and winning two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program. Anderson then starred as the host of Family Feud from 1999 to 2002. He has also appeared in series such as Scrubs, Search Party and Young Sheldon. But Anderson's biggest role in recent years is in Baskets, the hit show that started out in 2016. Anderson starred in the series alongside Hangover star, Zach Galifianakis, with the series ending on the fourth season. The talented actor landed himself with an Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2016, and was Emmy-nominated in 2017 and 2018 also.

THR now reports a statement made by Anderson's long-time publicist, Glenn Schwartz. He states that Anderson was diagnosed with a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is "resting comfortably" in a Las Vegas hospital. Anderson was specifically diagnosed with Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, the most frequent kind of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the US. It is not known when Anderson was diagnosed.
