The Robinson family is still lost in space - and they're not alone out there. Season 2 of Netflix's Lost in Space reboot begins seven months after the first season's finale, with the Robinsons stranded on an ocean-covered planet, far away from colony ship The Resolute. The villainous Dr. Smith is locked up on the Jupiter 2, and Don West continues to be an honorary part of the Robinson family (along with Debbie the Chicken).
It's been a long wait for new episodes of Lost in Space, as season 1 debuted in Netflix in April 2018, so viewers may have forgotten who some of the show's characters are. There are also some new additions to the cast in season 2, including JJ Feild as Ben Adler, a senior Resolute crew member who - like Will - seems to have a strange connection to the robots.

The Robinson Family (and Houseguests)
Toby Stephens as John Robinson - A former Navy Seal who was previously estranged from his family, John is now back together with Maureen and rebuilding his relationship with his son and daughters. Stephens is also known for playing Captain Flint in the Starz series Black Sails.
Molly Parker as Maureen Robinson - A trained aerospace engineer who worked on the Resolute's safety systems. Maureen is hiding a terrible secret: she made an illicit trade in order to have Will's test scores changed so that he could join the 24th colony mission. Parker is also known for playing Jackie Sharp in House of Cards.
Taylor Russell as Judy Robinson - The oldest of the Robinson children, 19 year-old Judy is a trained doctor and a fast runner. Her biological father is Grant Kelly, an astronaut who died before she was born, and she was adopted by the Robinsons at a young age. Russell also starred in the 2019 horror movie Escape Room.
Mina Sundwall as Penny Robinson - The middle child of the Robinson family, 16 year-old Penny is a brilliant writer but struggles with insecurity over her usefulness to the mission, and her parents' trust in her. Sundwall also appeared in the 2015 films Freeheld and Maggie's Plan.
Maxwell Jenkins as Will Robinson - The youngest of the Robinson children, 12 year-old Will has a strange connection to an alien robot, and in season 2 is searching for his lost friend. Jenkins also appeared in the Netflix sci-fi series Sense8.
Parker Posey as Dr. Smith - Originally called June Harris, Dr. Smith is a con artist who stole her sister's place on the Resolute and subsequently stole the identity of Dr. Zachary Smith, reinventing herself as a therapist called Dr. Zoe Smith. Posey is known for her roles in films like Clockwatchers, Scream 3, and Superman Returns.
Ignacio Serrichio as Don West - A mechanic who used his position on board the Resolute to smuggle goods like cigars, alcohol and chocolate from Earth to Alpha Centauri, Don ended up living with the Robinsons on the Jupiter 2. His closest companion is a chicken called Debbie. Serrichio is also known for playing Detective Alex Chavez in The Young and the Restless.
Lost in Space Season 2's New Cast Members
JJ Feild as Ben Adler - A senior crew member on board the Resolute, Ben had an intense connection with an alien robot called Scarecrow. His experiences with Will and the Robot leave him conflicted about his responsibilities. Feild played James Montgomery Falsworth, one of the Howling Commandos, in Captain America: The First Avenger.
Douglas Hodge as Hastings - Another senior crew member with knowledge of the Resolute's true inner workings, Hastings is willing to do anything to ensure the success of the colony mission. Hodge previously played Bartholomew Rusk in Penny Dreadful.
Sakina Jaffrey as Captain Kamal - The captain of the Resolute, Kamal values the safety of the ship above all else. Jaffrey is also known for playing Linda Vasquez in House of Cards.
Nevis Unipan as Samantha - A little girl who is left to fend for herself after the Resolute is evacuated. Unipan also appeared in the recent miniseries revival of Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Tattiawna Jones as Ava - Head of the Resolute's mechanical engineering team, and an old friend of Don's. Jones also played Dr. Simone Lightbourne VI in The 100.
Rob Labelle as Mr. Jackson - A teacher at the Resolute's school who gets into a dangerous predicament. LaBelle also appeared in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

- Raza Jaffrey as Victor Dhar - The leader and representative of the 24th colony mission.
- Ajay Friese as Vijay Dhar - Victor's son and a friend of Penny's, who is always getting dragged into trouble.
- Sibongile Mlambo as Angela Goddard - A resolute survivor who lost her husband in the first attack.
- Selma Blair as Jessica Harris - Dr. Smith's sister, a physicist who was supposed to be on the colony mission.
- Amelia Burstyn as Diane - One of the Jupiter crash survivors whom the Robinsons met in season 1.
- Shaun Parkes as Captain Radic - Captain of the Resolute, who plans to arrest the so-called "Dr. Smith."
