The first review for Lost Judgment is here, and it suggests that fans of both the Yakuza series and previous Judgment game will be in for a treat with the next release from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Lost Judgment is a sequel to 2018's Yakuza spin-off Judgment, and once again stars detective Takayuki Yagami, who will this time have to decide between defending the law or pursuing justice in a murder case.

Japanese publication Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) has released the game's first review, honoring Lost Judgment with an impressive score of 9/10/9/10 for a total of 38/40. As well as being a very high score, Famitsu's review also rates the new title higher than its predecessor Judgment, which was awarded a score of 9/10/9/9 (37/40) when it released. Judgment's Metacritic score currently stands at 80 for PlayStation 4, which means a high review score of anywhere from 80 - 90 can likely be expected for the sequel, at least judging by Famitsu's review.

While Lost Judgment features a dark story of murder, sexual assault, and justice, the game will be balanced with the humor and comedy seen throughout the Yakuza series. While undercover at Seiryo High School, players can put Yagami through his paces with a rhythm game at the Seiryo Rabbits Dance Club, while skateboarding also seems to play a significant role in the game. Famitsu's high score implies that the fine line between comedy and dark themes has been masterfully executed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, and players won't have long to wait to experience - and review - Lost Judgment for themselves. The game will release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on September 24, 2021.
