Say goodbye to painful microblading, tattooing procedures, and at-home brow kits with L'Oréal Brow Magic. Creating beautiful, natural-looking eyebrows takes time and money, and L'Oréal presented a new technology prototype to tackle those challenges at CES 2023. Laptops and monitors aren't the only new tech launching at the event. People are searching for any means to regain confidence in their appearance and remove the chore of routine eyebrow makeup, and the leading cosmetics brand is making that happen.

Thanks to L'Oréal, anyone can attain a personalized eyebrow look based on their facial features and natural brows at home. The beauty company has collaborated with Prinker, a leader in printed, non-permanent tattoos and cosmetic ink technology, to develop L'Oréal Brow Magic. This handheld, lightweight instrument provides consumers with their most precise brow shape in seconds, featuring 2,400 tiny nozzles and printing technology with up to 1,200 drops per inch (dpi) printing resolution.

How L'Oréal Brow Magic Works

A unique microblading, micro-shading, and filler effect can be created with L'Oréal Brow Magic using Modiface AR technology. The first step is to open the L'Oréal Brow Magic app and scan the face using the Modiface brow reader. The app will provide recommendations for the user to choose from. Once the desired appearance is chosen, prep by using the L'Oréal Brow Magic primer. Using a single, sweeping motion, move the printer across the eyebrow. To seal in the look, apply a topcoat finish.

There are many advantages to this technology. Unlike microblading, this tech is temporary. L'Oréal explains that the formula is easily removed with the user's favorite makeup remover. Mircroblading can last over two years, and if the individual isn’t happy with the look, they would need laser treatment to remove it. Microblading is also expensive and can get infected after the initial session. L'Oréal Brow Magic offers individuals a painless, cost-saving option.

Guive Balooch, L'Oréal Global Head of Research and Innovation's Tech Incubator, said, "Often, we find a brilliant technology that is being applied to something outside the beauty realm. Combining L'Oréal's heritage of beauty with these advanced technologies allows us to create entirely new beauty gestures — reimagining the original technology and the traditional beauty experience, in the process." This vision will allow the cosmetic brand to advance makeup into a technology-driven future. Individuals can expect L'Oréal Brow Magic to launch in 2023.
