The upcoming Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim anime now officially has a release date. Based on the epic fantasy novels by author J. R. R. The film is directed by Kenji Kamiyama from a screenplay by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, with additional writing credits going to Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews. New Line Cinema, the production studio behind Jackson's original The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, returns to the world of Middle-earth to produce The War of the Rohirrim.
As per a new report from Deadline, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim now officially has a release date set for April 12th, 2024. The date may be a little further away than many were expecting. However, the project is still relatively early on in production, with animation work underway by Sola Entertainment, the animation studio behind Blade Runner: Black Lotus.
Although much remains unknown about the upcoming The Lord of the Rings anime, a concrete release date is sure to give fans something to look forward to, at the very least.
