Looney Tunes Cartoons season 2 has been revealed in two new clips, exclusively from Screen Rant. Season 2 is set to premiere on HBO Max on July 8, continuing season 1’s mission of delivering new Looney Tunes shorts in the style of the old animated classics. As with season 1, Looney Tunes Cartoons season 2 will feature a stellar voice cast, led by Eric Bauza and James Arnold Taylor and including Bob Bergen, Jeff Bergman, Candi Milo, and Fred Tatasciore.

In recent years, Looney Tunes has struggled a bit to find its place in the modern media landscape. 21st-century adaptations like the live-action film Looney Tunes: Back in Action and the sci-fi cartoon Loonatics Unleashed were met with generally negative reviews from critics, while more traditional installments like The Looney Tunes Show were somewhat better received. Looney Tunes Cartoons eschews all those modern changes to the franchise in favor of a more loyal recreation of the Merrie Melodies classics, which has earned the series high praise.

Season 2 of Looney Tunes Cartoons promises more of the same retro slapstick cartoon comedy that made the first season so popular, and Screen Rant has an exclusive look at what’s to come. The new episodes will include the return of fan-favorite Looney Tunes characters Russian Dog, the stoic, meddlesome foe of Bugs Bunny, and Charlie Dog, who’ll do nearly anything to find himself a master. The new season of Looney Tunes Cartoons might be the perfect way to prepare for the release of Space Jam: A New Legacy on July 16. The new movie, which has been in development for many years, will see Bugs, Daffy, and the rest of the crew join forces with NBA superstar LeBron James in a zany cartoon crossover. The original Michael Jordan Space Jam is widely regarded as one of the best Looney Tunes projects of the past few decades, so it should be exciting to see how the sequel stacks up.

Many of the voice actors for the Looney Tunes characters in Space Jam 2 also star in Looney Tunes Cartoons, including Bauza (Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian), Bergman (Sylvester), and Milo (Granny). Space Jam 2 will also feature a number of more minor Looney Tunes character cameos, which could even include fan-favorites like Russian Dog and Charlie Dog. Looney Tunes Cartoons season 2 premieres on HBO Max on July 8.
