New League of Legends skins have been added to the game’s Public Beta Environment, with Riot Games making a return to the Arcana theme from last year. The tarot card-style skin line was received well by players when the first drop of skins was released in mid-2021, and now Riot plans to add five more popular champions to the lineup.

With every League of Legends patch, Riot likes to include a number of new champion skins along with the balance changes. Each of the skin drops usually follows a certain theme, either introducing a new one or returning to add champions to themes that players liked in the past. The Arcana theme in particular is one of the League of Legends community’s favorite new skin lines from the 2021 season, with many players asking Riot to revisit the skin line at some point during the 2022 season.

Riot Games announced on Twitter earlier today that they would, in fact, be making a return to the Arcana theme (presumably in patch 12.7) and have added the skin previews to their PBE version for select testers to examine. League of Legends fan-favorite champion Ahri, along with Xayah, Rakan, Ryze, and Hecarim will be joining the Arcana universe with their own tarot card-style looks. These new skins will also all come complete with battle animations, sound effects, and unique recalls. Riot has not disclosed the RP cost for each skin, though it can be assumed that they will follow the 1350 RP price tag that came with last year's Arcana skins.

While a lot of fans were pleased with the announcement, others expressed discontent with Riot for adding Ahri, who already has 13 skins, to the lineup. The League of Legends community has been more vocal in recent years about the lack of skins and visual updates to champions like Fiddlesticks, Cho’Gath, and Gangplank. Ahri, who recently had a major gameplay rework, is also set to receive a massive visual rework later in the year, adding even more attention to a champion who is among one of the most cosmetically-rich characters in the game.

League of Legends patch 12.7 is expected to release on Wednesday, April 13, with the new Arcana skins and a number of balance changes. The patch 12.7 preview is available on the PBE starting today, where people with access to the build can test the new changes and get a feel for the new skins. League of Legends patch 12.6, which features the all-new Battle skin theme, releases tomorrow, March 30.
