The Disney+ series Loki will tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessKevin Feige has revealed. Both projects were announced this summer as part of the MCU's ambitious Phase 4 slate, each scheduled for spring 2021. Only Multiverse of Madness has an official release date of May 7, 2021.

Loki will see the return of Tom Hiddleston's beloved trickster after he escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: EndgameHiddleston has said this show will answer the question of whether Loki is truly dead, something fans have been agonizing over since his latest death in Avengers: Infinity War. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will again star Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange and is said to be the MCU's first horror film. It will also star Elizabeth Olsen, reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch.

In a profile on Disney head Bob Iger from Bloomberg Businessweek, Feige shared the new tidbit about Loki. While discussing the MCU's expansion to Disney+, Feige said the shows included on the streamer will tie directly to the films, something that has already been confirmed. He explained that Loki will specifically tie into Multiverse of Madness, saying, "I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before. But it does." Prior to this, it was already revealed that the series WandaVision will impact Multiverse of Madness, as evidenced by Olsen's casting.

In addition to Loki and WandaVision, Disney+ will feature shows centered on the Falcon, the Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye. At D23 in August, Feige announced the development of three more shows: Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and Moon Knight. There will also be an animated MCU show called What If...? The first MCU show to hit Disney+, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, recently started production.

As the streaming wars heat up, Disney+ continues to demonstrate its might against its competitors. The MCU is arguably the biggest film franchise out there right now, and fans will no doubt flock to the streamer to stay up to date on all the content it has to offer. It's exciting to hear that Loki will impact Multiverse of Madness somehow and opens up the floor for speculation about how. Will Loki himself appear in the film? Or, since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arries before Loki, does something happen in the movie that further sets up the TV show? Since the version of Loki at the center of the series is still the villainous god who tried to take over Earth in The Avengers, he isn't exactly in the best frame of mind. With still more than a year until Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness release to the fans, there's plenty of time to theorize.
