Warning: This post contains spoilers for Loki episode 3

Sylvie actor, Sophia Di Martino, addressed theories regarding who the postman may be in Loki. Disney+ is now three episodes into its third series set in the MCU. Leading up to the show’s premiere, Marvel did an admirable job keeping Di Martino’s role a secret. After making her first appearance at the end of episode 2, she has now been featured in her first full episode, titled "Lamentis."

Loki’s third installment finds Tom Hiddleston's titular God of Mischief and Di Martino’s Lady Loki on Lamentis-1, a moon that is about to be destroyed by a planet. The episode didn’t feature Owen Wilson’s Agent Mobius or much of the TVA at all, despite a brief appearance from Renslayer. The episode instead focused on intimate character moments between the two Loki variants, although a prevalent theory is that Sylvie isn’t actually a Loki variant at all.

While there is still a lot to learn about her, the third episode revealed Lady Loki’s preferred alias is Sylvie and she has managed to maintain a serious long-distance relationship with a postman while hopping from one apocalypse to another. Unsurprisingly, fans went wild trying to guess the identity of this mysterious mail carrier. When Di Martino was asked about it during an interview with Screen Rant, she says she is flattered by all the fan theories. Read what she said below:

A guy told me earlier there was speculation about the postman that's mentioned. I say something about having a long-distance relationship with a postman. And apparently there has been people coming up with stories of who this postman is which I find brilliant and I'm really enjoying how much everyone's engaging with the character and the show and the whole thing is just excellent.

Loki Episode 3 Sylvie At The TVA

The most prevalent theory circulating online is that Sylvie is involved in a relationship with Willie Lumpkin, a postman introduced in Marvel’s comics in 1963 and was famously portrayed by Stan Lee for his cameo appearances in 2005's Fantastic Four and 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The comics even saw Willie time traveling at one point, which explains how he could communicate with Sylvie.

While Willie never crossed paths or maintained a relationship with Sylvie or Loki in the comics, the postman did attempt to woo Aunt May. However, there is a good chance Sylvie’s reference to a postman was just a throwaway line and doesn’t have any connection to the comics. Episode 3 made another popular theory that Sylvie is actually Enchantress unlikely, so perhaps future episodes of Loki will elaborate on her love life.
