Briana Darnell, a stand-in on the set of Marvel's Loki, shares a sweet story about Tom Hiddleston. When Hiddleston first joined the MCU in 2011's Thor, he was a relatively unknown actor with mainly independent films and theater credits on his resume. However, after playing Loki, the villainous brother of Thor (Chris Hemsworth), in just two Marvel movies, Hiddleston became one of the franchise's biggest stars. Proof of his popularity can be found in Thor: The Dark World, which was supposed to kill off Loki for good but instead saved him in the final scene purely because he had become so beloved.

With Loki, Hiddleston moved to the forefront of the MCU for the very first time. The Disney+ series picked up with the 2012 version of Loki who escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. Across 6 episodes, he encountered multiple versions of himself, sang a jaunty Norwegian tune, and confronted the deepest facets of his personality. Loki came to an end just a few weeks ago, but he will be back in season 2 - and, if the reports are to be believed, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as well.

It can't be denied that a good portion of Loki's success comes from Hiddleston himself, and for good reason. Over the weekend, Darnell, the stand-in for Sophia Di Martino, revealed Hiddleston aided her in a distressing moment while on set. "While filming Episode 4, I had a brain injury flareup. I couldn't keep focused and was forgetting everything @itssophiadimartino did in rehearsal," Darnell explained. Hiddleston even stepped in and told her just what to do, which only added to her anxiety. However, he soon fixed that. "As my internal anxiety was growing to panic levels, Tom suddenly took me by the shoulders and just held on for a minute with a gentle gaze," Darnell wrote. While she later realized it was a part of the scene, she believes "somehow, subconsciously he picked up on me needing comfort at that moment." Darnell concluded her post by adding that she will "always be grateful to him for it." You can see the full post down below.

By all accounts, Hiddleston is a kind human being who has gone out of his way to make others feel comfortable within the MCU. Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu recently recalled how Hiddleston offered him advice after he joined the franchise, and fellow Loki star Owen Wilson has spoken about how Hiddleston tutored him in all things Marvel. Though Hiddleston might not have intended to soothe Darnell's anxiety with his gesture, he certainly helped her in a pivotal moment.

With Hiddleston sticking around in the MCU for a while longer, fans should expect a few more stories like this one over the next few years. Marvel hasn't given an idea of when Loki season 2 will premiere, but it could be as early as next year. Considering the major cliffhanger the show ended on, that would likely be very welcome news. Stay tuned for further updates on where Loki (and Hiddleston) are headed next.
