A special look at Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series Loki reveals new footage for the Tom Hiddleston-starring show. After the back-to-back double bill of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the MCU's latest television era is taking a break for a few weeks. Then, on June 11, Loki will begin its 6-episode run. Hiddleston will once again step into the shoes of the wily trickster god, only this time he's portraying the alternate Loki who escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. Now set on a new path, Loki soon runs afoul of the Time Variance Authority.

As the latest Loki plot synopsis reveals, the god must work alongside the TVA or face "deletion from reality." This will put him in contact with Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius, a TVA official who takes Loki to task for all his timeline meddling. The series also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Richard E. Grant, and Sophia Di Martino. The twisty trailers for Loki have left fans with more questions than answers, and as the series draws ever closer, Marvel is ramping up its promotional efforts.

As part of the Marvel-themed Golden State Warriors-New Orleans Pelicans NBA game Monday night, Marvel unveiled a special look at Loki . Right from the get-go, it confirms Loki is up to his usual mischief, though he has to pull himself back in line to keep the TVA appeased. In a particularly amusing callback to The Avengers, Loki reminds viewers he is "burdened with glorious purpose." Check it out in the space below:

This new Loki teaser also reveals some details about the TVA members, mainly in regards to their opinions about Loki. While Mobius M. Mobius is willing to give him a chance, Mbatha-Raw's Judge Renslayer is less than enthused about the organization's latest recruit. She once again refers to Loki as a variant, confirming this version of the character is only one of many within the MCU's multiverse. Whether others will be glimpsed in Loki remains to be seen, though rumors have hinted Di Martino is playing Lady Loki.

Loki's use of his Avengers line isn't the first time that movie has popped up in promotional efforts for the show, and it might not be the last. This series technically takes place not long after The Avengers, and as it is the movie that arguably holds Loki's biggest defeat as a villain, the events could be weighing heavily on him. Like the previous Marvel shows, Loki presents a chance to dig deeper into the character's psyche than ever before, and perhaps the series will give more insight into his experiences during The AvengersRight now is the time for theorizing; everyone will get to see if they are correct in their guesses when Loki premieres next month.
