Marvel's Loki has sent out a coded message via the Twitter account for Miss Minutes, the cartoon clock mascot for the Time Variance Authority. Developed by Michael Waldron, the Disney+ series takes place in the wake of Avengers: Endgame, in which the titular god of mischief escaped in the past with the help of the Tesseract but has since been arrested by the mysterious Time Variance Authority. Threatened with the possibility of being erased from existence if declining the offer, Loki must help the TVA track down a more significant threat and help fix the timeline.
Development on the series first began in mid-2018 alongside several other Disney+ series connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. After tapping Rick and Morty and Community alum Michael Waldron for the head writer and producer role, filming began last January. It went all the way up to December due to a halt from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Though future seasons of prior Disney+ MCU series are currently unknown, it's already been confirmed Loki will be getting a season 2 with production scheduled to begin this coming January.
With just over a week remaining until the series arrives, the Twitter account for TVA mascot Miss Minutes shared a message coded in Norse runes. Many fans, including Twitter user Shadow_Grape, took to the internet searching for a way to decrypt or translate the message, and the result indicates the account may have been hacked by the god of mischief himself. The translation to the coded message reads: "Once I escape this hell prison they call the tva I swear I'm gonna burn everything to the ground." Check out the message below:
Though the Miss Minutes account hasn't been verified by Twitter as officially connected to the Marvel series, looking at its past activity of retweeting material from the show's account and offering its own teases points towards its authenticity. Also worth noting is that the account is followed by Waldron and fellow show writer Eric Martin. Even if it were to be debunked as false, the above message and other prior messages have provided fans with plenty of exciting treasure hunts in the lead-up to the series premiere. With Loki having previously promised verbally to burn the TVA to the ground, it certainly seems his frustration hasn't settled yet with this new message.
As the time nears for the arrival of Loki on Disney+, fan theories continue to quell, but the most desired answer of all is the story behind that of Miss Minutes' role in the series. Having appeared in both trailers and the poster for the project, and with Waldron's time-bending and odd character-filled past of Rick and Morty, it seems unlikely the cartoon clock will only make a brief appearance. For now, viewers will have to stare at their real clocks until the week-long wait is over.
