Loki will introduce Gugu Mbatha-Raw as the MCU's version of Renslayer, a classic nemesis and love interest of Kang the Conqueror in the comics, a possible link between the show and Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded dramatically on Disney's streaming service, Disney+. All signs are that, so far, the new MCU TV shows have been an absolute hit; The Falcon & the Winter Soldier had the most-watched premiere on Disney+ to date.

Loki is tracking to be Disney+'s biggest show yet. Marvel is continuing to promote the series, dropping a new trailer that confirmed the Trickster God must repair the timeline he broke when he stole the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. Marvel intends to give Loki a strong marketing push, ensuring it performs well for the House of Mouse.

Marvel and Disney released some HD images from the trailer and provided additional information to interpret them. One of these was a short of the Time-Keepers' judge, played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw; it was accompanied with a note indicating her character is called "Judge Renslayer." This clearly suggests she is playing a comic book character named Ravonna Renslayer, who originates from the 40th century and is best known as the love interest – and nemesis – of Marvel's foremost time travel supervillain, Kang the Conqueror.

Kang was besotted with Ravonna, and in fact, her father's kingdom was the only one he spared in that time out of love for Ravonna. She refused to return his affections, however, and instead, time and again, she has allied with the Avengers against him. The antagonistic relationship between Kang and Ravonna has been a strange and twisted one, complicated by branching timelines and alternate dimension doppelgängers. At one point, Kang forced her into an unwilling marriage. At another, Ravonna successfully planned to overthrow Kang and assassinated him (naturally, the timeline was subsequently changed to erase that particular victory).

It's safe to assume the MCU version of Ravonna will be very different from the comics, not least because she is associated with the Time-Keepers in the MCU. Still, the introduction of Ravonna raises the strong possibility Loki will tie directly into Ant-Man & the Wasp: Quantumania, given Jonathan Majors has been cast to play the part of Kang the Conqueror in the Ant-Man threequel. That certainly makes sense since both MCU stories are dealing with time travel.
