Actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw confirms her return as Renslayer in Loki season 2. Debuting on Disney+ in June 2021, Loki brought Tom Hiddleston back as the god of mischief in a very different way. The show was born out of Avengers: Endgame's time travel, which resulted in Loki obtaining the Tesseract and becoming a Variant in the multiverse. The series worked to shed Loki of his villainous persona, as Hiddleston's character worked with the Time Variance Authority to find a female version of himself, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino). Ultimately, Loki put the trickster in the middle of multiverse chaos, which is only the beginning of this story.

By the conclusion of Loki episode 6, it was confirmed that Marvel Studios was bringing the show back for a second season. Although Loki season 2 has been confirmed since summer 2021, details on the series have been tough to come by. Tom Hiddleston and Sophia Di Martino are officially slated to return, and Loki's ending promises that Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) should once again play a big role. However, there has not been any word on whether or not Gugu Mbatha-Raw's Judge Ravonna Renslayer would be back - until now.

During a recent interview with GMA, Gugu Mbatha-Raw was asked about Loki season 2 and if audiences can expect to see her back as Renslayer. The actress did confirm that she'll be in the next season, which is rumored to begin filming this summer, by saying, "I know there is a season two... I know that I'm in it...and that's about all I can say!" Mbatha-Raw was hesitant to say anything else about her involvement in Loki season 2 or what Renslayer's story will be due to Marvel's tight security. However, she did mention just how much she loves playing this character and being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Loki Episode 6 Judge Ravonna Renslayer

The confirmation of Renslayer's return in Loki season 2 is great news for fans eager to learn more about her story. The first season confirmed that Renslayer is a variant, just like everyone else working for the TVA, and that she was originally a teacher on Earth. Considering Loki's finale saw Renslayer leave the TVA and open a Timedoor to an undisclosed location and time, her fate was one of the show's biggest cliffhangers. Now there is no doubt that Renslayer's story will continue in Loki season 2 in some fashion.

It should be quite fun to see what Loki season 2 does with Renslayer next. Revealing where and when in the multiverse she traveled is a must unless another Phase 4 project reveals it first. This could include more of her original life, where she was known as Rebecca Tourminet. There's also the possibility that Renslayer's Loki season 2 return will show her still working for the new TVA that Kang the Conqueror is now directly overseeing. Renslayer and Kang have a deep connection in the comics that can potentially be explored in her return.
