Chris Hemsworth explains why he was unable to finish Loki season 1. After playing a supporting character in the Infinity Saga, Tom Hiddleston's Loki finally headlined his first project via his own Disney+ series. The show follows the 2012 version of the character, who escaped from the Battle of New York due to Avengers: Endgame's time heist and was subsequently arrested by the TVA. In the end, the God of Mischief learned about the existence of the multiverse, came face-to-face with He Who Remains, and glimpsed the consequences of an unleashed Kang the Conqueror.

As one of the most unique projects in MCU Phase 4, Loki has been a fan-favorite. Despite this, Hemsworth has still yet to finish season 1. Revealing in a new episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Thor actor explains why he has only caught just one episode of Loki, although he shares that based on what he saw, he found it interesting. Read Hemsworth's full quote below:

I think I saw an episode of Loki and I thought, ‘Oh, that’s cool...' I’ve got three kids, mate. I’ve got three kids and… I’m off gallivanting around the place… No, I haven’t watched anything. It’s not because I don’t want to. I just haven’t had time.

Will Thor & Loki Ever Reunite In The MCU?

Loki and Thor pointing guns in the same direction in Thor: Ragnarok.

For context, Sacred Timeline Loki is still dead. So, as far as Thor is concerned, his brother is gone after Thanos ruthlessly killed him at the start of Avengers: Infinity War. Despite the multiverse going haywire, there are only a handful of MCU characters who are aware of this phenomenon, which includes Loki. In fact, he may only be the only one who truly understands what is going on, with multiple branches of reality colliding with each other. This phenomenon could also be the reason why Loki's version of the God of Mischief can ultimately reunite with Hemsworth's Thor in the Sacred Timeline.

Granted that it's still uncertain what lies ahead for the Asgardian brothers at this point, there comes a time when their paths will inevitably cross again. There are a couple of upcoming projects in which Loki and Thor's reunion could happen. Firstly, Loki season 2 can bring the God of Mischief to the Sacred Timeline, where he can seek out his brother. There's also Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, which will be the culmination of the Multiverse Saga, hence the expectation that the MCU will once again reconvene to fight a common villain.

At this point, however, Thor and Loki's arcs are separate, and that could be the case for a while. The God of Mischief will move forward with his adventures in Loki season 2, while his brother plays Love's foster dad after Thor: Love and Thunder. This seems like a good way to shake things up for the Asgardian Princes, especially after their fates were intricately intertwined for the most part of the Infinity Saga. In any case, their continued separation could only set up a much better reunion for them in the future.
