A new Loki poster teases the MCU series’ time-bending storyline and begins the official countdown to the show’s Disney+ premiere. The eponymous Asgardian antihero will star in the MCU’s third Disney+ original series, following WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Loki is scheduled to debut on the streaming platform on June 11.

Picking up one of Avengers: Endgame’s alternate timelines, the new series will see Loki escaping with the Tesseract to far and strange corners of the universe. Along the way, he becomes entangled with the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organization from the comics dedicated to maintaining stability in the universe’s timeline. Tom Hiddleston will return to star as Loki, and Owen Wilson will costar as TVA operative Mobius M. Mobius. Though trailer footage has been released, the time-bending plot of Loki will be challenging to unravel before the show begins.

Loki’s absurdist time travel story has been teased in a new poster reveal on the official Loki Twitter account, which shows the titular trickster in what appears to be a prison uniform, with a metal collar around his neck marked “Danger.” A giant clock in the background with far too many hands hints at the temporal mayhem Loki will be causing. Whatever mischief he ends up getting embroiled in throughout the series, Loki should be one of the more interesting and bizarre entries in the MCU so far.

In addition to Hiddleston and Wilson, Loki will feature Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron (Sex Education) is directing the series, and Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty) is the head writer. From what’s been shown so far, Loki looks like it will be something between a time-travel comedy and an absurdist crime thriller, pulling more from the Thor: Ragnarok corner of the MCU for inspiration. That should be a stark contrast to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which begins airing on Disney+ on March 19.

WandaVision started the MCU’s new era of Disney+ original series strongly, setting a high precedent for the rest of the franchise’s planned projects to live up to. Hiddleston’s Loki has always been a fan-favorite character, so it should be exciting to see him and his distinct brand of comedic mayhem in the center spotlight at last. Loki is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on June 11, following The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
