Marvel Studios' Loki has been dropped on Disney+, and it's already revealing a great deal of information about the past and future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Focusing on the Multiverse and the potential chaos it can unleash, Miss Minutes revealed to audiences that there was once a Multiversal war that had to be stopped.

With the Time-Keepers planning on preserving only a singular timeline, it's likely that this objective will eventually crumble. There are several Multiverse based wars and conflicts in the comics and wider Marvel Universe, which Loki may actually draw inspiration from or launch into in the future.

Honorable Mention: JLA/Avengers

While the Marvel Multiverse is a huge structure that contains plenty of realities and multiple versions of Earth and various dimensions, there's also the much larger Omniverse. This contains other Multiverses, including that of DC Comics.

In the famous Justice League of America and Avengers crossover event, the two sides battled with villains from their opposite dimensions before fighting one another and teaming up for the greater good. While the DCEU might be exploring other universes on the big screen, it does seem an unlikely narrative to play out cinematically.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

The LEGO video games usually re-tell narratives that have already played out on screen, but Marvel Super Heroes 2 featured a brand new narrative based around Kang the Conquerer. His master plan included creating a civilization built from various time periods from different Earths in the Multiverse.

Conflict arose within these different sections of reality, which were mashed together in Chronopolis. The city is also present in the comics, and it's perhaps the Empire that Kang could be building in the far future, from strands of the main timeline. For the video game, it was an opportunity to include a diverse set of characters and settings.

Secret Wars

A giant image of the Beyonder appears over Earth as heroes rush to defend it in Marvel Comics.

The original Secret Wars were largely based around Earth, with heroes being pulled from their conventional reality into a battle world where they had to compete in extreme combat situations. The latest iteration of Secret Wars took the idea a stage further, featuring the entirety of the Multiverse.

It's the concept that perhaps matches the best with the premise that Loki has set up and the most popular theory as to where the MCU could be heading. The Secret Wars of the comics could easily be adapted to include timelines looking to dominate the future of reality.

The Spider-Verse

Marvel Comics Spider-Verse

The Spider-Verse has already been the subject of a hit animated adventure, but there's plenty of ways that it could play into the live-action MCU as well. There have been many variations on how the Spider-Verse is utilized within the source material.

Notably, Madame Web is at the center of this infinite array of worlds, each of which contains a version of the web-head. These timelines and realities have been known to collide, with the Spider-People teaming together to tackle the threat head-on. For the MCU, No Way Home appears to be linked to this Multiversal narrative.

Age Of Ultron

The Age Of Ultron event has already been depicted in the Marvel Universe on the big screen, but it did leave out the Multiverse elements of the story. Disney's Avengers defeated the evil android after repelling its data and destroying its many physical forms.

However, in the comics, it took Wolverine traveling through time to put an end to his Empire. The problem was that this created rifts in the Multiverse, resulting in characters being forcibly moved between Earths, creating new and dangerous conflicts. Loki could head down a similar path if the new time threads are not quickly deleted.

Kang Dynasty

Kang The Conquerer

Kang the Conquerer has been responsible for many different Multiversal wars, thanks to his continued obsession with dominating humanity in every age. The Kang Dynasty or Kang Wars storyline depicted the time traveler at the height of his abilities.

Kang and his son Marcus use their 31st Century technology to try and create a new timeline, depicting themselves as the rulers of Earth. If the Avengers had failed to stop him initially, he would have continued to conquer each world in the Omniverse. Loki's nod to 31st Century technology could be a sign of the Kang Dynasty inbound.

Destiny War

During the Destiny War, a version of Kang named Immortus was given a very specific task by the Time-Keepers. The mission was to stop humanity from evolving to a level that they would be able to travel past their solar system. The consequences of these kinds of changes would be huge.

With the timeline in the balance and Immortus desperate to prevent a dark future, a war began across the various versions of reality. With the Time-Keepers present in Loki, it's possible that their level of control could extend to forcibly changing the history of Earth.

Eternity War

Cosmic Entities attack the Marvel Universe in Eternity War

The First Firmament is a physical entity created from the remains of the first-ever universe in existence. Angered by being forgotten and seeking to change reality once more, the First Firmament lays waste to the current Multiverse and cosmic beings protecting it.

It's a concept that is far beyond anything that Marvel Studios has attempted before, but something that could play into the likes of Lok and even upcoming projects like EternalsIt's a conflict unlike any other, featuring some of the most powerful deities in all of creation.

The Captain Britain Corps

The character known as Merlyn has become one of the protectors of the Multiverse and has ensured that each Earth has a range of heroes to defend it. He created The Captain Britain Corps, which resulted in an iteration of Captain Britain protecting Great Britain in every timeline, on every Earth reality.

The Captain Britains of the Multiverse could be waging the same wars simultaneously to ensure that their islands are protected. It might not be the kind of narrative that Marvel Studios would leap into straight away, but it could be a smaller aspect of a larger conflict triggered by Loki.

Infinity Conflict

Thanos Heals in Infinity Conflict Comic

Thanos has already been portrayed as the Big Bad for the MCU, but in the comics, he actually takes his plan a stage further. Combining his physical self with impressive cosmic beings who have come to shape reality, he became more powerful than almost any other entity in existence.

It took the past version of Thanos, the Avengers, and beings from across the Multiverse to ultimately put an end to his domination and desire to end all of existence as everyone knew it. A final threat posed by the Mad Titan in the MCU might be an intriguing path to take.
