Loki begins with a past version of the God of Mischief grabbing an Infinity Stone and stealthily escaping from his superhero enemies. Much to his dismay, Loki is quickly arrested by the Time Variance Authority and finds himself in danger of being erased from existence.

The show proved that nothing was as it seems, including the TVA's purpose and who was really controlling the timeline. Throughout the show, Loki teamed up with a variant of himself and uncovered the secret puppet master of the Marvel timeline. By the end of the season, no character was where they were when they were first introduced in the series.

Hunter B-15

Hunter B-15 gives side eye to another character in Loki

Hunter B-15 had her entire world changed in Loki season 1. She was the main hunter seeking out and capturing variants, a no-nonsense TVA worker who does her job well. However, things changed when Sylvie got her hands on her.

When Loki came to an end with the final episode, Sylvie learned she was a variant, as was every employee of the TVA. This revelation affected her deeply and caused her to become isolated from the rest of the TVA.  One of the biggest surprises in Loki was Hunter B-15 working with Mobius in what appeared to be an alternate Earth, still unaware of her true nature.

Ravonna Renslayer

Ravonna Renslayer played a huge role in the entire first season of Loki, and her true nature is still unclear. Ravonna ran the TVA and also had a close relationship with Mobius. However, she was another variant, although she might or might not know the truth.

When the first season ended, Ravonna declared that she was going to protect the TVA at all costs, even if she didn't know why it existed. She then left Mobius and teleported to an unrevealed location and time. Ravonna never showed up again, but it is clear she wants answers, and she set out to find them.

Mobius M. Mobius

Mobius M. Mobius was one of the best supporting characters in Phase 4 of the MCU so far due to his appearance in Loki. Played by Owen Wilson, he was an upper-level TVA investigator and who helped Ravonna capture and interrogate several variants over the years. However, Loki exposed him to the truth about the TVA and the investigator's true nature.

Mobius learned he was a variant and helped both Loki and Sylvie reach He Who Remains to uncover the purpose behind the TVA. He then went back to the TVA intending to reveal the truth to everyone. He never got that chance because when Loki found him, he had no memories of anything that just happened and now seemed to run the TVA in an alternate timeline.

He Who Remains

He Who Remains did not show up until the final episode of Loki's first season. He was the man who ran the entire TVA organization and seemingly controlled all the events leading up to his appearance. He also revealed to Loki and Sylvie how the TVA began and its purpose: to keep variants from starting an all-out multiversal war.

In the final episode, Sylvie killed He Who Remains. While he died, there is no way he is gone for good. When Loki returned to the alternate TVA, it was his face that replaced the three Time Lords that previously represented the TVA. Perhaps most importantly, a version of the character will return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, so he is far from finished in the MCU.

The Time Variance Authority

Loki faces the Time Variance Authority.

The Time Variance Authority is a large organization, but it is also a character in and of itself. Similar to the group in Marvel Comics, the TVA is a group of individuals who tries to ensure that the timeline remains clean and stops anyone from trying to change things through time travel.

By the end of season 1, the TVA had evolved so much that it didn't resemble the organization viewers were introduced to in the first episode. Multiversal timelines were now plentiful and the three-headed government presided by the Time Lords was replaced by a He Who Remains variant.

Kid Loki

One of the most exciting Loki variants for fans of Marvel Comics was Kid Loki. In the comics, he was a member of the Young Avengers. This is a comic storyline that Loki could have set up since members like America Chavez, Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, and Scarlet Witch's twins already appeared or are coming soon to the MCU.

Kid Loki arrived, but the chance of him joining his other Marvel teammates is slim. When the first season of Loki ended, he chose to remain in the world at the end of time, where he held a position of power.

Loki

Loki went through a lot in the first season of his series. He learned there were various different versions of him, and they were all destined to lose in the end. He also went from the bad guy in The Avengers to someone who was empathetic to others and capable of loving someone else.

In the end, he tried to save Sylvie from making a mistake and failed. When he was sent back to the TVA, he learned an even more shocking truth: he was in a new timeline and his closest ally Mobius had no idea who he was.

Sylvie

Sylvie is an alternate variant of Loki, a female version taken from Asgard when she was a child. Tragically, she didn't even know why they took her or what she could have done to create a time anomaly. She spent the next several years of her life trying to get vengeance on the TVA.

In the final episode, Sylvie chose to seek vengeance at all costs. She killed He Who Remains despite Loki's warning that it could cause bigger problems. As a result of her actions, she inadvertently created multiple timelines and possibly awakened other variants of the man she just killed to seek vengeance against her. When the season ended, Loki left her to return to the TVA, and Sylvie wound up alone.

Classic Loki

Classic Loki looking at the other Loki's.

Classic Loki was a surprising addition as a variant and one that was a lot of fun. Played by the respected actor of stage and screen, Richard E. Grant, he was the old-school version of Loki with the Silver Age costume and haughty demeanor. He was also one of the best Loki variants in the first season.

Classic Loki also got a grand heroic moment in the penultimate episode of Loki's first season. As the temporal entity Alioth threatened to destroy everyone, Classic Loki sacrificed himself to allow Loki and Sylvie to reach the castle of He Who Remains and fulfill their destiny.

Miss Minutes

Miss Minutes talks to Ravonna in Loki.

Miss Minutes was the small chirpy face that showed up as a holographic image to give the characters relevant information. She seemed like a silly computer program that was the TVA's version of Siri. Yet as the series progressed, there was more to Miss Minutes than simply being a friendly hologram.

At the end of Loki, Miss Minutes was trying to convince Loki and Sylvie to take control of the TVA, a position held by Ravonna. Then Miss Minutes went to Ravonna and made it clear she was more than just a device to give her information. Miss Minutes had an ulterior motive and disappeared, leaving Ravonna and viewers wondering who she worked for and what was coming next.
