Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Loki episode 5, "Journey Into Mystery."

Kang the Conqueror is coming to the MCU, and Loki has hinted that he may have already bought Avengers Tower. Loki episode 5 took the God of Mischief and Sylvie on a journey to and through the void at the end of time, where they encountered a host of Loki variants. Along the way there was a feast of Easter eggs, ranging from the tease of a frog Thor variant named Throg to the remains of the Thanos-Copter. Also included among the futuristic wasteland, though, was a tease for one of Marvel's next big villains: Kang.

A time-traveller from the 31st Century who has been a major foe of the Avengers in Marvel Comics, it's already confirmed that Kang is coming to the MCU. Jonathan Majors will play Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but it's likely that the villain will have a bigger role to play beyond that movie, perhaps even in The Avengers 5. It would make sense, then, for Marvel to start laying the groundwork for Kang ahead of his arrival, and that's what Loki could be doing.

Avengers Tower (formerly Stark Tower) was once the home of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but Tony Stark sold the building and moved the team to a new facility. Spider-Man: Far From Home revealed Avengers Tower is under new ownership in the present day timeline of the MCU, but it kept the details purposefully vague. There have been various theories about who might've purchased the tower, ranging from the Fantastic Four to Norman Osborn, but Loki suggests it may well have been Kang. In the void, Avengers Tower now carries the name "Qeng," which is a reference to one of Kang's alter-egos and business enterprises from the comics.

Avengers Tower in Spider-Man Far From Home

In the Avengers comics, Tony eventually sells the tower to Qeng Enterprises, a business purportedly run by CEO Mr. Gryphon. Except, Mr. Gryphon is one of Kang's alter-egos, stuck in the 21st Century. The tease in Loki very much fits with that, and while it's plausible this is just the result of an alternate timeline where that happened, it's equally possible that Kang really has purchased Avengers Tower in the Sacred Timeline. After all, that sale has to be paid off at some point, and all the pieces are in place for Kang to be behind it. Loki episode 5 contains several Kang hints, including Alioth, the time monster who has been an opponent of Kang throughout the comics, and what could be his castle at the very end through the void.

If Kang really did purchase Avengers Tower, then it'd mean he's been planting the seeds for his arrival longer than anyone realized, but that would fit with his general goals, allowing him to build up a base of operations (and likely weapons) during the MCU's present day timeline, while also moving through other areas of it as well. Introducing him - or one version of him - as the owner of Avengers Tower, rather than a more overt villainous introduction, could be a fun way of bringing him into the MCU and offering a slow build for his arc. Whether that's something the Loki finale pays off remains to be seen, but either way Kang is coming, and it might be to Avengers Tower.
